I fixed a Hobart Kitchenaid K5SS mixer with this part. The original had failed and no longer provided any speed control. It fit like the original part.

Works great on K45SS
Mixer was getting noisier and low speeds weaker. Mainly use mixer for pasta dough. I decided to clean, replace fiber pinion, gaskets, o-rings (all OEM) and replace grease which made it smoother and a bit quieter. Changing the speed control made it operate like new again. This is a genuine OEM part and I expect many more years out of this 30 year old KitchenAid mixer.

one screw takes cover off then another screw to remove old part. installed in 5 minutes and it fixed the wild speed problem

Tuned up the ole’ kitchen aid and threw another one of these in it since I didn’t know what I was doing. Worked great but my problem was the weird speed regulation thingy that made it hunt around at different speeds.
