Replaced Webroot . . . .
I've used Webroot for years and intended to buy it again when my current subscription ran out last month. I only buy it on sale here at Amazon, though, because I am not paying a lot for any internet security. Twenty dollars is my desired limit. Looking at prices at the time, I saw Bitdefender, for 5 devices with included optimizer, was lower on sale than Webroot and even had an additional $10 off Amazon coupon. Thus, now I have Bitdefender, which I did use many years ago. It is considered one of the top two security software for viruses in almost all places that rate such software. I had no problem installing it on my Lenovo desktop and it is causing no problems at all. It came in the mail, instead of being simply an online download, too. The account number is on a plastic card, so it can be easily accessed any time to install on other devices if needed.

I was told this is the next best thing to the banned Kaspersky Total Security.
One presidential administration banned the use of Kaspersky on federal computers but allowed civilians to use it on their personal computers and devices. The last presidential administration banned it from being used by civilians. As a result, the Kaspersky Total Security suit that I purchased in March 2024 no longer can update itself. Kaspersky handed it's US business to another anti virus company and allowed that company to install it's software onto people's computers. Not cool. Thanks to the government, I lost money on my 2 year subscription. After being a Kaspersky user for over 13 years, I was forced to find something else. I previously had used Mcafee or Norton before they became intrusive, annoying, weak at scanning for viruses and malware, and resource hogs. Not to mention the customer service sucks for both products. Look them up on user review sites like Trustpilot, if you do not believe me. So I have settled on what some people online suggest to be the next best alternative to Kaspersky. Bitdefender is now installed on my PCs as well as my mom's PCs. I purchased the 5 device 2 year Total Security suit. Unlike Kaspersky, it does not come with a disk. It comes as an envelope with a credit card size paper card with product key. Once I setup up an account and entered product key, It downloaded the installation file and I had it installed on my computer within a few minutes. It asked if I wanted to protect other devices. Through my account, I was able email an invite with the download link to my mom. She clicked the link and downloaded the installation file and had Bitdefender installed on one of her business PCs within a few minutes. I did not have to share the product key or account password with her. That in its self is a nice feature. So far, it seems to be working with out excessive annoying pop ups like you would get with Mcafee and Norton. I liked how Kapersky would give you a real time on screen scan process indicator when inserting a flash drive. Bitdefender seems to do it in the background. Our computers have SSD storage and sufficient memory, so no slow down of computer resources has been noticed.

The lowest price ANYWHERE!
I renewed Bitdefender for about the fifth time and this was the lowest price way to do it! Scratch a code off of the card. Fast and simple and added one year so easily on ALL FIVE devices!!!

Turned into Norton - Will not be renewing my subscription
New review: Sadly Bitdefender has turned into Norton. Constantly deleting files for being "strange" and closing your programs at every turn. Using Regedit is impossible if you don't disable shields and worst of all it literally terminated Explorer and deleted Dirt 5's EXE because I copied it to my Desktop. Apparently copying a game exe is "Suspicious behavior". Contacted support and they initially said they'd give me a 2 month extension to my soon-to-be expired subscription which I still haven't received. I mentioned it in a few more times and was completely ignored. Then they told me to download a program which started to log literally everything on my computer. Every single program, all currently running programs, and I closed it before it could get any further (which was like 20 minutes in and only 2/10 the way through). I guess to add to all of this I've only faced problem after problem with it hammering my drives because I had the audacity to launch a vidya gam (video game). Their response was the obvious "just exclude it then" which didn't work. Had to just let it scan until it got bored and when I moved the game to another drive it hammered that one too. So yea I'm not going to renew my subscription. They know this and I doubt they care. I'd rather an anti-virus that doesn't stop me from destroying my Windows install, which I have never actually done. I've had Windows 10 destroy Windows 8 and Linux destroy Windows 10 because Windows Installation was being Windows, but I have never destroyed Windows before. As long as you exclude me duct taping the Linux-destroyed Windows back together until it finally failed one day. Old review: Bitdefender is probably one of the better Anti-viruses out there in my experience. The only issue is that out of the box it's a bit on the too-safe side blocking all programs that access your Documents by default and even blocking access to your router because it's "Not secure"... I'm not an expert on Anti-viruses though but I can say I've enjoyed using it far more than I've enjoyed using Avast. Although one thing that does have me slightly worried is they've blocked Google on a number of occasions for a short period...

Excellent product! I accidentally left the wrong seller review on this product that was intended for another product that wasn’t received. Amazon can you fix this?

Found a better deal on Amazon
To resubscribe to Bitdefender is horrendously expensive so found this deal on Amazon which was great for me at the time.

Can be use to extend current subscription
I was worried that since the title is label 2021, the cd key may not work on extending my current sub, but it works.
