Great size and blade
The handle is quite large and has a curve that fits in your palm and the opposite side of the handle has a slot the length of the handle that provides addl grip. Its oyster season and I will let everyone know how this holds up!

The Excalibur of Oyster Knives
Best oyster knife you can buy...period. I’ve purchased maybe a dozen of these for my self and family and friends. The concave nature of the blade helps to really cut into the oyster hinge and pop them loose. The handle is very ergonomic and the blade guard keeps you from being impaled by oyster shales. The price is also right on these as they are a quarter that of “premium” knives without the same features. In a shucking contest I can destroy my friends with this knife... no matter whatever they’re using. I can’t recommend this enough.

Awesome but don't leave in the sun
I shuck a lot of oysters and couldn't find these knives in any brick and mortar retail places. Best knives to have for serving oysters to friends as they have the guard and thick handle to keep them from injury. The only negative i've found is that the material in the handle is not UV resistant; they will fade in sunlight over time. This is only from being exposed for long periods of time.

Brilliantly Designed Oyster Knife
I am an oyster knife enthusiast-collector, and this tool now ranks in my top tier best working knives, ranking right with the Swissmar Paddy model. Unlike almost all other models, both of these are brilliantly designed, their own very different ways, handle and blade, to open oysters quickly and safely, outstanding. I use it "upside down", with the hollow side of the handle and blade facing up, insert in the hinge, lever and twist, easy peasy.

Not so much for me
FYI, I shuck oysters every week . Knife not for me. Point, way to thick. Handle, didn't fit or feel comfortable in my hand. The guard protecting the hand was a positive. Worked on the larger oysters better, but not so much smaller ones. As I said, the point is much too thick. I do like the OXO brand for the smaller oysters, nice thin point and great handle.

This is a fantastic oyster knife. It's actually the second one I bought - one for the house and one for the camper, so I don't have to remember to put it in there!

Excellent knife for shucking oysters
Different oysters seem to require different knives. For golf coast oysters, I find this one to be the best
