LineaeffeSilk-Line Spinning Fishing Reel

Beach reel arrived today. Good weight to it, seems robustly made. The line lay is much better than on one of their other beach reels Lineaeffe produce.It arrived spooled with what seems like 25lb mono.... it's underfilled which suited me fine as I wanted to add braid to the reel along with a tapered leader using the very easy to tie Improved Albright knot. It takes 150m of 30lb braid as well as leader to fill up to capacity. Which is more than enough for Beach fishing. If you want long casts on a fixed spool reel.... filling the spool right up is essential as the friction increases against the spool lip as the line level decreases.I have had a few different reels including Shimano, Shakespeare, Daiwa, Rovex..... But couldn't resist trying this for under £10 you can't expect much for a tenner these days but this reel is a pleasant surprise and I've read very good reviews on other sites too.Only one small gripe.... It seems impossible to lock the spool down for power casting. Which means slight slippage under the finger. Definitely wear a glove/finger stall for off the ground or pendulum casting styles. However it's perfectly usable for the overhead thump which for this price is what it's designed for. I was able to get over 100 meters paired with a 15ft beach rod.Best value reel and arrived really quickly.

I bought this reel to take my kid fishing for the first time and as I hadn’t fished for many years I didn’t want to splash out too much cash initially. The reel came in good time so no complaints there but unfortunately the line ‘nested’ on almost every cast. I tried to persevere but had to give up in the end. I’m planning on returning the reel and I will purchase another I’m afraid.

I have not had a chance to try out this reel yet as the weather in South Wales has been terrible with very strong wind and gales.I would however like to say how impressed I am with the service of your company.The reel arrived 2 days before it was due,that is impressive.As I said have not had chance to try reel yet but if it only lasts a season,for what it cost I will be happy.I bought it as a spare if anything goes wrong with one of my multiplier reels when beach fishing,or for easier fishing at night.Once again thanks very much Andrew Cross

It came today, perfect condition. Lovely bit of kit, nice sturdy beach caster, easy usable as a boat reel. I'll be using it on a 4.3mtr beach caster. I love it.

No complaints, especially for the price. Good casting motion. No tangles on the retrieve.

Great for a budget reel. Casts well too. No nonsense, no frills reel ideal for beach fishing at medium range. I couple this rod with a 12ft beach caster and find that it works well. No fish as yet.
