This is a very short monograph. But it is difficult to understand. It requires lot of mathematics. Reading two times won't be enough. Goof for research purposes. Not suitable for a layman. But I enjoyed reading it, though understanding little.

A paradigm shift in development economics. Read and used the knowledge extensively in my research.

Fantastic Read.

This is a thorough overview of Sen's theory of Capabilities as they relate to the measurement of well-being. He explains why he rejects the alternatives and provides eloquent exposition of his own theory, taking into account the criticism available at the time. As ever, Professor Sen's work is to the most excellent standard.

人々の幸福を考えるには従来の経済学で用いられてきた財空間ではなく，機能空間で考えるべきであるとするケイパビリティア・プローチを説いた小冊子.基本的には大学の講義に基づいているために，内容は専門的である。しかし具体的にデータを使ってケイパビリティの考え方や応用を示しているので，そこから読むのもよいと思われます。本格的に読む際には，ミクロ経済学の消費者理論の選好関係について知識があると，理解が早いと思います.だだし論理的に厳密なものも含まれているので，根気が必要です.でも門外漢がさっと読んで理解できるような書物ではないことも明らかです.

こんな数ページしかない冊子のようなもので内容的にもそれが数千円もするとは信じがたい。詐欺みたいに感じた。今までアマゾンで買った洋書で最悪だった。
