Practical Solution to Winch Placement
I am a farmer, need a winch once or twice a year. Back in the day they mounted on top of the bumper, were easy to access and use. Now the bumper solution is a huge unsightly Star Wars looking contraption that adds an enormous amount of weight and places the winch underneath and out of sight. Totally impractical and ugly. This tray solves the mounting with a solidly built steel extension that fits my 12,000 winch perfectly, gives me access to the free-spool lever, and when the relays fail (and they all do), I do not have to work under the truck to attempt to remove the winch to access it for service. Everything is right in the open and accessible. It also adds a bumper ahead of the phony plastic insert that gets bumped and broken on the farm. The only downsides are reaching the upper support mount straps to bolt them to the frame support. If you have a Tundra with the oil cooler on the right side, that has to be unbolted and moved up while the inside bolt is installed. Nothing in my instructions on that step. The other issue is that on a Tundra the the frame nuts are a pure bugger to remove. The instructions call for a medium depth deep socket from Snap On, have that and it still took four different ratchets and a long flex handle right along with a Gearwrench to fight the space limitations. That socket is not required to reinstall the nuts, just a regular socket works for that along with a flex handle ratchet with the ability to work with short throws. Also read the instructions twice and make a list of the steps involved. The instructions in my kit were not well written, but simple editing and listing solves that issue. All is well that ends well, and I would definitely buy this tray system again.

Great alternative to a large heavy winch bumper.
Well made and very heavy duty. This was a bit of a pain to install as space to work a tool is very tight. Either have the special mid length socket or prepare to be creative. Great alternative to a massive winch bumper when all you want to do is mount your tool and keep it simple.

Good luck with the install instructions and keep a supply of Band Aids nearby.
Wow... they say take your time and it will fit well. That is an understatement for sure. The instructions were really poor in my opinion. The illustrations were almost useless. There was only one that hinted the direction of the installation. Trying to get to the upper hardware to hold the top supports is almost impossible. The socket that they suggest in the instructions ( but not mentioned in the description ) is a MUST. It is a 14MM socket that can't be a standard deep and a standard shallow will not work when removing the six inside bumper to frame bolts. I believe a 20" light bar was suggested, but the hole pattern on the top of the bar is not drilled to install a 20" light bar. I would suggest a 24" bar. I now have to return the 20" light bar that I ordered. This too, me 2 days to install due to running back and forth to by tools that were required for this job, also cut and bleeding arms trying to get to the hardware locations. I'll have to say it looks pretty good and feels plenty sturdy. Have a second set of hands and be sure it is somebody with thick skin (not a wife or girlfriend) as with either there will be a fight. Good luck and happy wrenching.

Perfect fit on my 2016 Tundra SR5 Crewmax
Perfect fit on my 2016 Tundra SR5 Crewmax. Purchased with the Rugged Ridge 15100.21 Spartacus Performance Winch (Synthetic Rope, 12,500 lbs.) which fits snug in the mount. It took an unbelievable 8 hours to install (including an hour to mount the winch) but that is all due to the Tundra and the tight spaces you have to get to, in order to bolt everything up and torque the nuts properly. It will hinder the approach angle of the truck but that is not too much of an issue for the type of offroading I do. I also purchased 2 of the T-MAX 46-3005 Black Tow Hooks, which are super tough, since you can't reuse the stock tow hooks. For the price, compared to what an offroad bumper cost, I think you can't go wrong. (man, i miss my Wrangler JKU and the plethora of cheap aftermarket accessories)

Warn Zeon 12s will not fit. Can't return it now...
Purchased this for my 2016 TRD Pro Toyota tundra. Then I purchased my Warn Zeon 12s winch to go with it. The Zeon is too wide to fit on this tray and the holes do not line up. I wanted to return the winch tray but am now outside of my "return window" per the amazon policy. My advise is to have the winch you want to mount in hand first to make sure it'll fit prior to purchasing this tray. Don't get stuck like it did.

Budget winch mount
Solid and easy to install, hardest part was removing the factory bumper. The install of the mount itself was easy. Quite heavy. The finish of the tray itself is sleek and easy to clean and hasn’t weathered in the two months I’ve had it.

Great fit and quality product.
Fit my 2012 Tundra very well. Quality product and very sturdy once mounted. I did it myself in about 1.5 hours - solid!I put a Badlands 12000lb winch in the tray and it pulls very well. I ordered a warn but it grenaded after 2 pulls so I went cheap and ordered the harbor freight for 1/5 the cost. Works well...
