I picked this up for the kitchen and just wanted a small timer I could attach to the fridge or use free standing.Despite being small the display is quite clear (larger numbers are 2cm high) and the viewing angles are good too.Doesn't get much easier for controls set the minutes and seconds with the two smaller buttons and the larger one starts/stops the timer. To count up just reset it to 0 (hold both the min/sec buttons) it counts down when a time value is set (99min 59s max)Power is via a single LR44 button battery cell. Beeps are loud enough to hear. and the build is pretty decent too. Most useful feature though is the stand and magnet giving you a choice. One of the better ultra compact timers I've tried

I had a small Salter timer that operated for 8 years on the same battery; the battery still works but I can not see the display anymore.The differences with this model: its shape, the old one was a rounded rectangle and a stand has been added although it's not required because the timer can stand on its side. Also a small beep has been added to every minute while programming; I fail to understand the necessity for this other than it would be useful for the sight impaired.This is a dependable little timer which I strongly recommend.

While there were a few reviews that said it's a good product I should've taken note of the bad ones. The ones that said it doesn't work or that it works erratically etc etc.For the price I'm not going to bother sending it back but just opening and closing the rear stand on the thing causes the timing to either stop or start.This isn't good when you're in a competition on a rifle range- the last thing you want to do is mess about wondering whether or not it has started timing. Destined to the bin, I've bought a different one instead.

The most important thing about a timer is that it buzzes when the time reduces to zero. This one doesn’t. It even has a quality control sticker on it! Also the description says it doesn’t need a battery but it contains one and doesn’t work without it.

I bought three of these, having owned Salter products in the past and this to be a reliable brand. Within a couple of weeks of light to normal use, all three timers were beyond use - buttons becoming erratic, setting the time requiring several attempts due to buttons sticking or not responding, and the same when trying to stop the signal - the button sticking and either not stopping the signal or restarting it. Incredibly annoying and totally unusable in the kitchen. A product to be avoided.

Poor quality. Buttons don't respond - or respond twice - which means you've turned it on AND off. If you touch the thing the wrong way, the screen goes blank. Irritatingly crap.
