Makita LXT1500 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless 15-Pc. Combo Kit

I got this for Christmas to solve a huge problem, multiple batteries and chargers failing from different manufactures. I must have had 6 different chargers and everything was starting to not charge and a couple of the charger stopped working. I started looking around and after a couple of weeks decided Makita 18V tools were my best choice.There is no other set of tools that have so many options available. The 15 tools that come with it are nice nut having the ability to also buy a vacuum, hedge trimmer, and chainsaw to name a few, met all of my needs. No more Black and Decker, Craftsman, and Dewalt and associated chargers all over the place, just two quick chargers and the four batteries. I have used a drill, light, and radio so far and nothing special other then IT ALL WORKS. Can I find flaws, yes, but they aren't worth mentioning because this is amazingly functional beyond anything else I could buy. Thank you Makita!

A lot of great stuff in here, and a very cost effective buy compared to buying individual items. A number of things I would never have bought if they weren't part of the kit, but many of them turn out to be very useful. (Such as the circular metal saw, which makes beautiful cuts, or the drywall driver that was great for putting in 100s of screws when I was building a fence.) If there are any improvements, I would wish this kit had more batteries, they are the limiting factor. I had one battery go dead within three days of arrival. I had it replaced without questions at a local Makita dealer, it was covered by Makita warranty. But it does point to a weakness with the LXT system, the batteries are programmed to go belly up (shut themselves permanently down) in case of the slightest anomaly, and the LXT batteries are expensive to replace if this happens outside of warranty. (I suspect this is how Makita really makes money) Makita, a wish for the future, bring us larger capacity LXT batteries that match the power and reliability of the tools.

I got the set everything was good except the trigger on the impact driver has an issue. I contacted makita to get it repaired but was informed that since AMAZON IS NOT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER my warranty is INVALID! What a crock of crap. Wait until the batteries Fail which they will within 200 charges, and you have to pay 100 each for new ones. DONT BUY MAKITA OFF AMAZON

Wish I would have gotten this sooner . It makes my job easy , you dont have to pull every tool out of the truck just the two bags and your set . I highly recommend the jig saw its great.The blower comes in handy for blowing off saws and customers drive ways . You wont be disappointed.Update* 1/02/13Still taking the every day abuse and still working. All batteries are in good shape . Also picked up the cordless vacuum thisis a great tool for small jobs where shop vac is not needed.

I've been a Makita fan for 20 years. Upgraded finally from the 18 volt pods. Got to use most of the tools and they work great. I read some of the issues in the past with the batteries, but have not had any issues yet with them. If I start, I'll come back on and add notes. My only gripe would be that the radio doesn't charge batteries.

This is a great set of cordless tools for those of you who need a bit of everything only disappointment is it has 2 1/2" impacts the smaller one should be a 3/8" not 1/2" BUT WORKS FOR TAKING OUT SEATS AND MAKING CUSTOM THINGS WHEN YOU ARE DETAILING CHECK IT OUT @ WWW.CROWNKOTE.COM

I prefer Makita, I might have better served if I had gotten two smaller combo's . This combo is not a compleete wood kit or a complete metal kit leaveing more tools to be bought.

quality as expected, packed well, and shipped quickly. we were, however surprised that one of the iitems was missing from the set: the utility flashlight was missing, even though we checked thoroughly since there was so many parts...
