Vanicream Hair Shampoo has been an excellent choice for my hair and scalp. It cleans effectively without causing irritation, dryness, or itching, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin or scalp concerns. I appreciate that it is free of common irritants such as fragrances, dyes, sulfates, parabens, and formaldehyde releasers.

Miracle worker!!! I have very painful psoriasis on my scalp and usually flake terribly every time I wash my hair and this has minimized my flakes by at least 90%. My scalp feels clean and hydrated and I have zero itching. Most shampoos like this leave my hair dry and brittle but this actually gives my hair shine and is so soft.

I have used the Vanicream cleanser for my skin so was ready to try the shampoo. Since I haven't seen it in any store near where I live I ordered it online. For a 12 oz bottle it is rather affordable compared to some shampoos that size or smaller (I paid more for a name brand 8 oz size of shampoo). Since I am not a big fan of dyes and/or fragrances I was glad to see this shampoo contained neither. And by fragrance-free that means no masking scents either. Some fragrances can be aggravating--I don't want perfume just clean hair. The shampoo is also sulfate-free and since I color my hair that was a plus too-hopefully less fading of hair color. I have hair that tends to run on the oily side but at the same time is straight and limp so I use styling products which can also cause build-up. This shampoo doesn't contain any additional proteins and since it is a clear shampoo kind of acts like a detox shampoo yet doesn't contain the harsh SLS that some clarifying shampoos do. We have soft water so it lathered up okay and I do spend extra time rinsing to make sure everything is out of my hair. Since my hair is thick it did get kind of tangled after washing so I did use a conditioner to facilitate easier combing. I rotate between a couple of shampoos so this will probably be the one I use when I need to give my hair a fresh start and get rid of build-up.

Works great for scalp dermatitis. Nothing has worked this well so far I’ve tried everything from head and shoulders to TSal and multiple clarifying shampoos even the more expensive ones like bondi boost. The shampoos the doctor gave me are too harsh to use every day but using this in between days where I use the prescription shampoo really does help. None of them worked as well to sooth my scalp and reduce scaling I’m scratching less and my hair is returning. My hair also has color in it and it hasn’t affected it either.

I'm really excited I found this Vanicream shampoo, it finally helped relieve some of my allergies! I have an autoimmune disease (Hashimotos) which makes me sensitive and allergic to many things. The previous shampoos I used for years caused pimples on the back of my neck along the hairline and the skin below my ear, and also irritated my eyes. My hair also used to be oily after it dried. When I first tried Vanicream, my hair felt very rubbery and it was hard to lather the shampoo into my hair. However, since it cleared up my skin, I tolerated the annoying process because it was better than nothing. It took about 1-2 months before my hair "softened" and it became much easier to lather shampoo into my hair. The shampoo can be a bit drying, but since I have thin, oily hair, it actually works very well for my hair and makes it fluffy when dry now. I also use it as a body wash. After testing this out for 8+ months, I highly recommend!

I have a reactive, overly sensitive scalp and this shampoo has helped with that. It's fragrance and dye free, which I love. My hair feels clean with one wash. My only complaint is it does leave my hair on the dryer side. I am going to pick up the conditioner and see if it works as well.

What a great shampoo. I have extremely sensitive skin and have tried so many names to even mention that contained the amount (contents) as Vanicream ranging in price from$13 to close to $30 and none were as effective in relieving my symptoms. The extreme- times- of maddening itching. I visited with my dermatologist and she prescribed Ketocanazole medicated shampoo.After using - following directions —waiting 5 minutes before rinsing and a dozen attempts and still could not realize the results I needed to make a difference . After trying so much I came across Vanicream. I had never heard of it. I was in for a surprise. Immediately with the first usage I felt relief. I was stunned. All extreme itchiness disappeared. Before I found Vanicream I was buying a Gallon of Dial Antimicrobial soap not antibacterial but antimicrobial for sensitive skin. It helped somewhat but not enough. And was roughly $39 a gallon. Along with using Dial sensitive antimicrobial soap My Dr. prescribed a prescription for Hydroxizine 50mg 4 times daily to contain allergy type itching symptoms. Many more times more effective than other anti itch over the counter medications. With Vanicream, -I no longer use Hydroxizine except for I x at nighttime as it helps one sleep as it also induces drowsiness as a side effect but used specifically as an anti allergy anti itching agent- and for me—was much more effective than Melatonin. My next major concern is how far one bottle of Vanicream would last. And another surprising revelation. How much would I have to use to cleanse my hair and be effective. At first, I used the same portion from my refillable bottle of Dial and found I could use 1/2 to 3/4 less of a portion with Vanicream. This was crazy. Though it’s not advertised as concentrated- it certainly works like concentrated. The same size portion- using 3 pumps of Dial-I only needed one pump of Vanicream. Transferring to a refillable pump bottle creates a metered amount for each pump, rather than pouring onto my hand - the amount varies with each usage. - making the pump bottle a better method. Making it also last longer with each metered pump along with how concentrated it is -than any previously used hair product. And I had never heard of Vanicream!. . Also I found out I do not need to use a conditioner which may or may not be the case for each individual that uses this product. .Accompanying Vanicream I use Ginger Lily Farms Club & Fitness Nourishing Body Wash, 100% Vegan. I buy that in the gallon form for $21. And it works equally as well as Dial using the same portion. With Vanicream using the same portion as Ginger Lilly Farms and Dial -.I found that I could have easily cleansed from my hair to my waist. With each metered pump. it is not only long lasting but an incredible value that works with the symptoms described in their description. I am still in shock that I found this shampoo. Maybe shock is too strong of a word. But stunned is not. I finally found a product that works that I wished I had known about years ago. It certainly is providing the relief I needed which is Stunning.

Love that fact that it is more natural and not harsh on my scalp, but it leaves my hair quite dry and matted (I have dry hair anyway) so just a warning there.

The shampoo has no moisture ingredients, so it makes your hair break easily. It’s the weirdest texture I’ve ever felt after shampoing my hair. The conditioner helps but the last time used it, a huge clump of hair fell down my leg. I was devastated. It also doesn’t feel like it fully washes your hair, so my scalp started to get more & more itchy. I switched to Kurel shampoo & conditioner which seems to be working fine. Thank goodness my hair loss has gone back to normal. Despite the stress this has caused, the seller said I could return it. Hope this review helps people avoid the same mistake.

Excellent product

I’ve been using this shampoo because of eczema/sensitive skin concerns and it’s been one of the better fragrance-free options I’ve tried. It cleans well without making my scalp feel stripped or irritated afterward. I also like that it’s truly free of fragrance, a lot of “gentle” shampoos still have a noticeable scent. This doesn't. The bottle design is surprisingly convenient too. The opening/closing mechanism is nice because you just press down to open the hole, which makes it easy to use in the shower with one hand. It also came with a seal, which I appreciated since it made the product feel clean and unopened. It is a little tall so the bottle can fall over if on an uneven surface, be mindful of that. Overall, a solid shampoo for anyone with sensitive skin, eczema, or fragrance sensitivities.

Great product. Little to no smell at all and is great for people with sensitive skin and known allergies.
