Extremely efficient and fast
This fantastic pot heats water so fast. Almost none of your heating fuel is wasted. The design of the pot forces the heat to pass through fins in the base and out the vents on the side of the pot. Little heat leaves the vents because it is absorbed so efficiently by the fins.

Save your money*edit*
Coating started coming off on the first boil, just unsafe to use period.*Edit*After setting this aside, I returned to the pot after doing research on other cookware. The coating had not worn off yet there was stains left on the bottom of the pot where the welds meet the heat sink. Upon further inspection the pot was still safe to use and I have since used it several times in different outdoor situations. I still do not think that it is safe to cook with over an open fire unless you create distance from the pot and the flame due to the temperatures involved. I previous review was a little bit unfair this is a cost-effective option with your looking into using aluminum cookware for outdoors activities

232 grams total weight
Naked aluminum pot might be 190 g, but with coated handles my true pot weight is 198 g. Add in the lid, and the weight of pot, coated handles and lid is 232 g. While not bad for 1L heat exchanger pot, this is 22% heavier than advertised. Carrying sack is another 14g. Still, it works well and is a keeper value for small group outings when I'm not counting grams for a long trail. Fits nicely atop MSR PocketRocket 2.

Fast boil
I use this with my Firebox Nano twig stove. Using another titanium pot took a lot longer to boil water in. Even though this one is a bit heavier, I think the trade-off is worth it because it is probably 3x faster at heating up. The fins probably help a lot in this regard, as well as the stainless steel construction. I am really happy to be able to have a quick boil on my wood stove.

Boils water fast but has a chlorine odor when boiling
I got this heat exchanger pot to see if it would help with boil times and simultaneously reduce heat feedback on my Russian Optimus 8r clone. And it does do both of those things. Using 500ml of near freezing, 34 degree Fahrenheit, water I measured boil times on two different stoves. My trangia clone alcohol stove using my surplus czech military pots managed to boil the half liter in 18 minutes! Not fast at all. Indoors, no wind, and no pot lid. The heat exchanger pot boil the same volume of refrigerated water at 9.5 minutes. Same conditions and no lid. Much faster. I changed the test slightly for the Optimus 8r clone by using lids. I did this to prevent comparison between a pressurized cook system and a non pressurized cook system. For the Optimus 8r clone the Czech military pot with lid and 500ml of near freezing water, again 34 degrees fahrenheit, it took 8 minutes to boil. Already the reflected heat from the pot was causing the stove to really roar but not in a dangerous way. With the heat exchanger pot boil time was down to 5 minutes flat. The design of the heat exchanger ring on the bottom of the pot really does make a very noticable difference. Because the design also allows the heat to travel up the side of the pot really reduced the amount of heat being absorbed into the fuel tank of the 8r clone keeping the tank only warm not hot. So this pot did everything I hoped. Unfortunately the whole time being used it smelled like bleach. Like I was boiling chlorine or something. I'm not sure what that is about but it makes me nervous about using it to eat or drink from. It is bad enough plenty of toxic things come from China but this one is just weird. So wash heavily before use at least. For me if the strange chemical smell continues I'll likely have to discontinue use of the pot.

Increased heating efficiency!!!
The heat retaining ring works well and is the reason I bought this item. The increased efficiency uses less fuel and thus reduces the need to carry extra fuel on hikes. It now has a permanent place in my pack.

Coating rubbing off
I boiled water in this pot one time, and after washing it, the coating on the inside of the pot already started to come off. Not great, but you get what you pay for eh?
