Excellent two slice toaster value for money. Colour white.

Igenix IG3011 toaster Price paid: 14.99 £ Date: 18 January 2021 Origin Made in China The maximal size for a slice of bread is: L x W x H = 13.5 x 3 x 11 [centimeters] It would be fery useful if toaster manufacturers wrote the inner dimensions of the actual active, toasting volume. It would reduce the number of returned items and would help customers to buy the correct toaster from the first try. The above dimensions are smaller than those our favourite bread, Saisbury's multiseed loaf(pictured). As can be seen from the images, the top of the slice stands out by about 3 cm when placed vertically. If the slice is placed horizontally, then a part of it still stands out (like a shark's fin :) ). The result of horizontal placement is an expected burning of the part closest to the heating element and very little influence upon the top part. The setting used was 4, which is the middle one. In this setting, the toaster initially consumes 240 W, for about a second, and then it spikes to 840 W, where it stays for a considerable while. So the 750 W rating refers to an average power, I suspect. The measurement was done using the SSE smart meter, in the setting that allows one to see the instantaneous power consumption, 'Energy Now'. For cleaning it properly, it is not sufficient to empty the tray, because seeds and crumbs become trapped in the space between the top of the plastic casing and the inner metallic part. Flipping it, after it has cooled and slightly tapping on its end ejects all the remaining seeds. This is expected, so it is not a negative aspect, just a fact. In conclusion: The toaster works well for slices smaller than the above measured dimensions and has a reasonable cost. Because it does not fit our bread, I don't know if we will keep it. In the toaster's defence, the slices are becoming bigger and bigger and it was made using a template from a day when things were normal, not oversized. The same slices don't even fit our lunch box without proper persuasion work. Information added and rating changed from 4 to 5/5 stars on 27 Feb 21 We kept it and are now halving the oversized bread slices. The power setting for optimally toasted bread is 3/6. Highly recommended product.

My mum is happy with the toaster except she has to cut her slice of bread in half toast. Slots were smaller than we thought.

It does the job nicely. It is relatively small and light. The black colour and simple design makes it fit for every kitchen. The temperature control works well.

If you are looking for a cheap toaster then this is what you want. Drawbacks are that the slots are maybe a millimetre smaller than needed for a standard slice of bread, it takes time to find the ideal setting for browning toast and could with a slightly longer lead in my opinion. Positives, it works and does what its supposed though and that is the important thing just need to remember to make sure the slices are pushed down in the slots.

Great toaster easy to use

I'm not sure what one expects from a toaster. Me... I just want it to look like a toaster, sound like a toaster, and do the work expected of a toaster. The term you see so often 'out there' is: "Prices may vary!" WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? However, even in the world of 'plain old toasters', this statement is definitely true because "prices DO vary" and quite dramatically. Which then leads one to believe that the more you pay, the better the object of your desire must be? Not so fast. I have found (in my various trawls through household appliance purchase bliss) that more often than not, the less you pay, the more the product lives up to giant expectations fulfilled. And in the case of this 'dapper little, ultra shiny bread browner', need I say more... But I will. For its price (a song), it is everything I hoped it would be. Clearly marked with a cancel switch, that's if your timing is a little off, and a lighter tinge of brown is more to your taste buds. Has a silent pop-up quality to it, is wide enough, long enough, and you don't have to keep slamming it down like it doesn't know what 'down boy' means. This little number looks good, has all of the bells and whistles, and I didn't have to sell my shirt!

Purchased this by mistake and wanted to keep it because it looked so good. However since I already have a pretty newish toaster already, I couldn't warrant the purchase of this. Large slots, easy to use. Will keep it in mind when i need to renew mine.
