Outstanding Product!!!
I bought the iStorage diskAshur2 and it was well worth my money. Most portable hard drives, as opposed to flash drives, do not come with the same kind of protection. To begin with, it is hardware encrypted, using real-time military grade AES 256-bit XTS full-disk hardware encryption validated to FIPS PUB 197, so there is no software to worry about or drivers to set up. This also means that the diskAshur2 is platform and device agnostic, so it works as well in Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome or Android.diskashur2 also includes thin clients, zero clients, and any clients that have a USB port. This drive also has a Common Criteria EAL4, and a ready on-board secure microprocessor; FIPS 140-2 Level 3, foundation level NCSC CPA, and NLNCSA certifications are all pending. Of course, it is also fully IP 56 certified for water and dust protection. Enhanced Dual Generating Encryption (EDGE) technology kicks in with a Common Criteria EAL4+ ready secure microprocessor. The microprocessor also comes with built-in physical protection mechanisms to defend against external tampering, can withstand ‘laser attacks’, and fault injection methods. External attacks are completely useless; the internal components are encased in a layer of epoxy resin so tough that breaking the hard drive is impossible without breaking the internal components. Any attempt to break into the device kicks off the deadlock frozen state. All the authentication parameters are encrypted and physically protected by the microprocessors’ memory encryption (scrambler) and access control schemes.Another great bonus was the two product gifts: A Nero BackItUP, and ESET Drive Security.I am overall, very satisfied with this hard drive, and I would not hesitate to purchase any other product from this seller.

Well made and functional as stated
The Product is superb; beautifully engineered, provided with an elegant case, strongly built and easy to get started. I have done the initial password setting steps quickly following the instructions and the product was ready to use. It is very user friendly. Enter your 7 to15 digits numerical password and press the unlock button the DiscaShure gets ready to use in a few seconds. When you are finished and you want to sign out, simply press the lock button. Nothing could be easier than this. I am very happy and I am planning to a second one soon.

Complicated … but
I bought this hard drive it was so much complicated to follow instruction and specially if you are a new user I have to contact helpdesk. Helpdesk are very good and helped how to setup my password and now it’s very easy to use it turns off automatically one you leave the device very secure and works with Mac and windows too. I like the idea entering the password in physical button it means strong security to this device wow I love this kind of technology.

Doesn't appear in Windows Explorer
I had to return the device because, although connected, it did not appear in Windows Explorer (yes, it was unlocked with a solid green light). Also, the connection cord is far too short so it was literally dangling from my PC's USB port. I tried using a USB extension but the drive made a constant clicking noise and didn't work that way either. Finally, it did not come with a user manual so I had to access the manual online. After much troubleshooting, I gave up out of futility. I tried to call customer service but the US phone number still said the office was closed. I'm guessing that is because customer service reps are in England so they are 7 or 8 hours ahead of us.

Apple OSX must go into utilities to get that istorage icon to appear (diskashur2) 2TB
1. Connect istorage diskAshur into a USB port;2. wait until the light dance finishes until solide red light is the only light on the istorage device (after the device performs a brief, automatic, self-diagnostic);3. on the istorage keypad push the factory admin PIN 11 22 33 444. hit the unlock button,5. Green unlocked light appears solid you can now use the drive like any standard flash driveBUT If nothing is shown on the desktop of your computer. The, istorage light must be SOLID green for the Apple device to recognize it.Enter its PIN, push the unlock button.Your goal is to HAVE only the SOLID green unlocked light to appear. When it appears and stays illuminated SOLID green look back at your Apple device, DON'T PANIC and go grab something to eat. When you return to your Apple device Click anywhere on your AppleOSX desktop Clicking on the desktop sometimes wakes-up the icon.If no istorage device Orange icon appears then it's time to open utilities folder to open your Disk Utility[look up left where the apple device shows words along top-of-screen Finder___file___View.___GoWithin that realm click Go-->utilities-->disk utilitywithin the disk utility a pop-up window "Loading Disks" indicates its loading your storage sectorsistorage's device disk2s will be listed as a separate device away from your device hard drive, where = on the left side of that disk utility pop-up window.....below the word External click on disk2s2...BE CAREFUL to only click on the disk2s2 listed under EXTERNAL [within that disk utility pop-up-window]your next step will be to look at your desktop for that orange icon with its name disk2s2. If you can click on that orange icon open its pdf file for formatting directions....otherwise, if no icon is on the desktop, start eating those snacks. You will need to find that disk utility pop-up window to click on disk2s2and to click erase (to activate/format the istorage device)if and only if under External disk2s2 is highlighted within the disk utility pop-up.Within that disk utility window find the drop-down menu that appears after erase is clickedchoose MasOSJournaled. If that orange icon hasn't appeared on your desktop. ..it will eventually appear... Search online for the user manual for your device. Go find something to hug, you'll need it....You're almost finished...Sidebar: I threw in a read/write command by pressing 7 and 9 simultaneously after its first erase......actually.... I factory reset it after the first erase(formatting) and then I pressed 7-9 to open up its read write capability, why??? because the orange icon failed to appear after the first time the istorage device was erased(formatted).I was determined to get it to work. Finally I got it to work through disk utility after it refused to re-appear as its orange desktop icon. I finally found its factory name disk2s2 faintly listed under external within that disk utility pop-up window that's when I erased/formatted it again (attempt #2) . FFS, that took all day.....Worth the effort. I hope this helps someone. EDIT: If you're needing tech support you might run into difficulties if you're in the U.S., istorage support is good, but in the U.K. which presents some time-zoned based problems. I am still recommending DISK-ASHUR2 as a reliable back-up, just know if you need any tech support (after Amazon's 6-month-window) ...istorage might not be consistently available.

Solid build, security seems excellent
These are sturdy drives, with a high quality feel. Setup takes some practice, because you have to type in several key sequences in a limited amount of time, but once you get the hang of it they work very well. I use them to back up my law practice data. From what I can tell, the data is very secure. When the drive has been unlocked and is in use it works like any other fast drive - documents, sound recordings and even video files can be opened easily, and the audio/video files play smoothly right from the drive. An excellent product.

Solid and Reliable. I bought another one
The media could not be loaded. I bought my first one in 2021. After 3 years with no problems and finding it very easy to use, I just bought another. As back up. I'm busy copying data over to it now (see pic).I haven't got the technical expertise to comment on how secure it is and whether its encryption is all it claims to be. I can only go on what I'm reading from the blurb on Amazon. On the other hand, since it needs a password to get into it, it's better than a drive that doesn't require one. And all my data seems to be intact to date.

Pretty cool device.
This is cool storage device. Not too complicated in operating. Comes with complete set manuals both inside the box and pre programmed as file inside the storage within the hard drive. Didn’t encounter concerns in creating the pin and it doesn’t lock itself when plugged in instantly after Let’s say 2 minutes. Takes good 10 or 15 minutes before goes dormant and even then is only inputting the code that puts it in functionable mode right back again.
