Does the job it's supposed to do
Weirdly these are both way too expensive and also totally worth it. A sticky piece of fake leather should not cost nearly $20 but it's well made and has some sticky stuff on there that will never ever ever ever come off. They look nice and feel nice but color matching is a bit hit or miss. That said when getting one of these I think it's more important that it look decent, feel good and not allow further degradation of the leather around the patch for which it accomplishes very well.

Very pleased and would purchase again!
I applied this to a small worn part of leather couch. The product seems to have excellent durability and adhesive quality. It's only been a month since I applied it, but at this point I see no peeling or corners turning up. (And since the patch is on the seating surface of a heavily used couch, it's getting lots of use/testing.) The patch surface has a faux leather/rubberish texture that is comfortable, durable and easy to clean. The "brown" is definitely a dark brown. Sort of chocolate. Wish there were a few more color choices in the brown family (maybe more natural reddish brown) and that they made a larger patch or some additional shapes (square, round, etc). Overall though, very please with this product and would buy again. I should also note, that I previously used the Match 'n Patch realistic brown leather tape. That product was a much better color match with my couch ... from a distance of a couple feet you could barely notice it's "patched". However the product truly is a duct tape like product. The finish looks great, but it has a duct tape like feel/quality and it's not very durable. After a month of high use the edges were peeling, etc. Based on looks alone Match 'n Patch would be better. So if you're patching something that doesn't get much use/wear and tear you should give this a try. But if you're looking for a durable product with high adhesive quality I would go with the MastaPlast Peel and Stick.

Much nicer than expected
MASTAPLASTA peel and stick repair patch for holes, rips and stains in car seats, sofas, bags and leather jackets. 8 inches by 4 inches PLAIN STRIP DESIGN/BLACK My perforated leather car seat has finally torn through after years of abuse from my ridiculously trendy jeans accented with sharp protruding button studs along the butt. You may still be able to find a few pairs left at my nearest Salvation Army. I'll have it re-upholstered soonish but needed a non-embarrassing solution for the moment. Nuttin' fancy, just quality-made. I've never seen a discrete leather patch nor a patch that wasn't lifting at the edges and covered in lint. Thankfully, Amazon's Highest Rated Products sorting led me to this. The reviews left me confident that the high price is worth it but of course there were the usual low ratings indicating the edges are lifting. I took precautions and found that Barge turpentine glue was THE product for this application. After prepping the area by toothbrushing with and hot water/soap and thoroughly drying, I smoothed over a super thin layer and applied. The rubber-like vinyl material gives it a bit of grip; however, the more my butt slides around on it, the easier it's becoming to slide my butt into the seat. I was initially scared that the patch would surely tear off from my weight sliding in and out day in and day out, but it actually looks totally fine. It's holding up awesome. Depending on the quote to re-upholster, I may just get another patch to stick on the perfectly fine passenger seat just to give it some symmetry. Despite my satisfaction with how well it's glued in place (preventing further tearing, there's a reason why a star is missing. I didn't notice any special tips in the reviews or instructions since it's a simple adhesive-backed patch and thus, I applied. Maybe it's because my leather is really thick, but I am left with a noticeable indentation along the tear area. By the time I noticed, it was a little late to stretch the patch as I applied.

Saved me so much hassle and stopped the flaking
We bought a leather couch that supposedly was leather in all of the "touch areas"... Welp, apparently they don't account for people touching the console area... Ours started to lift in a small area (about 1in x 1/2in) and then flaked off.. I was livid as the couch was not cheap. I looked for solutions due to the unique color of the couch, I wanted some to match. I am so thankful I found this product. It was the correct size and thickness needed to completely cover the area and the immediate surrounding areas, I feel confident it is protecting the area from further damage. Navy was a little darker than our "Chicago blue" couch, but honestly it is so close I don't care. Patch was super easy to apply. I did cut it to curve with the console/ ensure coverage where needed -- it is holding up fine and I plan to purchase more if needed in the future. Excellent product and quality!

Works Well! Read Steps!
I washed the area well where I was going to stick it, let it dry completely, then wiped it very well with rubbing alcohol. This patch is VERY sticky so know exactly where you want it because it will NOT come off easily to reposition. It has been on the seat of my couch for over a month and is sat on by me, other people and my dogs. It has not budged or peeled off in any way thus far. I like how it molded to the shape of the seam I put it on (LEATHER sofa from Raymour&Flanigan the leather was tearing away from the seam, which they refused to repair/replace- Dont buy leather from them!!). You can deffinately tell there is a patch there as the outline shows and it has a bit of a different finish than the leather, but is much better to look at instead of a damaged seam! I would give this 4 stars, but the price is rediculous honestly. It does not get 5 stars IMO because there IS room for improvment in design. I do not care for the faux stitch print embossed into the patch which makes it more noticable. UPDATE 8/2015- This patch is STILL holding strong with dogs and daily use. I will need to buy more because the leather is of suck low quality. I think this patch will outlast the entire couch itself!

Much Easier Than Leather Repair Kits, Very Durable
I purchased this to patch up the driver's seat in my 04 accord, where I have two small tears that have developed recently. No matter how well leather is conditioned, eventually stuff just gets old. That's life. I looked up various methods of leather repair, but most of them seemed to require more effort than I was willing to give and/or didn't seem like they would stand the test of time. After reading the great reviews on these patches, I figured this was my best solution. ***PROS*** -Easy to use. Peel and stick. Simple as that. -Quality feel. I'm not sure if it rivals the "finest Italian leathers," as they claim, but it's certainly comfortable material that has a leathery feel to it. -Durable. I haven't had mine on for years, but many reviewers have. Mine has held up to me getting in and out of my car dozens of times without showing any sign of breaking down. I wouldn't be surprised if the patches outlast my car. ***CONS*** -A little pricey. The price isn't awful, but it was $20 when I bought it. Most alternative repair kits are in the $10-$15 range. To me, it was worth it to not have to put any real effort into patching my seat, but a good leather repair kit would have resulted in a more aesthetically pleasing patch for less money (but more time). -Options are limited. Black or brown, plain leather. That's it. My Honda's black leather is perforated, which is a very popular patter for leather. Given the makeup of this patch, I can understand that a perforated version would be more difficult to manufacture, but it would have been nice to have a patch that looked more like my real leather. -Difficult to apply to curved surfaces smoothly. It's not unmanageable, but if you mess up on your first application, don't expect to be able to peel it off and try again to get a crease out. -I wish they had more usable patch sizes. 8"x4" might work for some applications, but most tears start small. I needed a 2"x2" patch and a 1"x2" patch for my seat. This patch is easy enough to cut with a razor, but if I could have purchased a set of six 2"x2" patches instead of one 8"x4" patch, I would have preferred the smaller patches. I know that technically MastaPlasta sells smaller patches, but at the moment you can buy this 8"x4" (32 square inches) patch for $17.80 or a 2" diameter (6.28 square inches) patch for $14.95. $0.56/square inch vs $2.38/square inch. There is also a 4"x2.4" patch for $15.95 ($1.66/square inch). The smaller patches cost 3-5 times more per square inch, which is unreasonable, in my opinion. ***OVERALL*** If you don't mind a leather fix that is going to stick out a little bit both physically and aesthetically, I would recommend this patch over leather repair. It's extremely simple to apply, very durable, and quite comfortable. The complaints I listed above are minor and would not stop me from buying the product again or recommending it to anyone in need of leather repair.

Great Band-aid for my 15 year old plus Leather Car Seats. I wished I would have purchased them sooner.
I had previously snapped a photo of my seats to send to a leather repair place but cannot locate them now. I should have snapped a photo of my car seats before I used this product on Sunday, but didn't - you will get the idea though. They were torn quite a bit to the point that a leather repairman said that there was no hope for my seats. I picked the color that I thought would be close to my seats (Tan) and it wasn't even close but none the less I thought it would be worth a try. (I purchased four (4) of these patches because my seats had some holes and I didn't want to use seat covers). One of my holes were bigger than 6 x 6 so I used two of the 4 x 8 patches which worked quite nicely. I had my two daughters help me so that I could place them without the worry of not lining them up. Also before I placed the patch on the tears, I put duct tape under the tear between the foam of the seat and the bottom side of the tear (quite a pain to say the least) but placed it the best I could and then brought the pieces together to create a lessor size tear before I used this MastaPlasta. I will say that the MastaPlasta stuck 10 times better than the duct tape but then again I was just attempting to lessen the tear in hopes the MastaPlasta would have enough leather to stick to. It worked. I like the MastaPlasta enough I am going to buy some more for prentive "tears" that I can see coming through my seats. It is a band aid but it worked. I someone wants an end photo of the patch I can do that but you really don't need it. If you are looking for something for a "TORN" seat then this is it. Do Not Expect It To Match, BUT YOU CAN EXPECT IT TO WORK. I will update in a month or so to let you know how it has held in our Georgia HOT Summer Heat.

Made in UK Does what it claims.
I had little hope of repairing a seam on a leather seat but thought I would give this MastaPlasta a try. I am truly amazed at how it is performing. I needed to cut the patch in half as the seam was splitting in two vital places I thought this would probably reduce the strength of this patch but no, each piece applied perfectly and now weeks later is doing a wonderful job. Next time I know to trust this product and I will buy 2 instead of cutting because the edges are part of the design. I followed the instructions to clean the surface and allowed it to dry overnight I used the seat about three hours after applying the patches but I could have used it straight away as the sticking power is so good. The patch arrived almost within 24hours and I noticed they are made in the UK which is good. I recommend this product. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a good looking and strong repair.

Excelente producto

Great colour match
Great colour! Now I know it's such a good match, I'll get a second one. Also sticking well to my peeling chair it seems.
