1 double thick and 1 single thickness were a great combo for a job
The difference between this and 3M Paint and Rust Stripper Brush is that this one is thicker in that it is actually two of them fused together with a small gap inbetween. I purchased both because I wanted to compare them but fortuitously they work well together for bigger flat areas of metal this double one does great. Meanwhile for corners (inside part of a right angle) the single pad being narrower does gets in there much better. Together I stripped the dirt, grime, rust and paint off of some Volkswagen air cooled engine tin, transmission, starting motor and other engine parts and the only thing else i needed was a toothbrush sized wire brush for hard to reach crevices and grooves. They have not worn down nearly as fast as I was thinking they might and still have lots of material left on them. Great stuff and will be using again.

Fastest remover at a great price!
This paint remover works great and very fast. It is unlike gel removers or sand blasting as those are very messy. This attaches directly to your cordless/corded drill, I think slower speeds are good for most jobs. My drills have lower speed options and that is what I use. These will take it down to base product in no time at all. I have used these for removing rust/paint from front house railings and removing paint from large garage door, so big or small they work. I have purchased many over the years and keep a couple of new ones for jobs that pop up. Please make sure that you print the surface before the final coats are applied.

Removes paint and rust extremely well
Pros:- Removed paint and rust better than a wire brush- Safer than a wire brushCons:- Expensive- Still situations like small areas where a wire brush fits better.Overall it did a great job and really removed paint and scale rust extremely well. I'm sure I'll be using them again, I just wish they were a bit cheaper. Though maybe it'll last a long time and the cost won't bother me so much. But I haven't used it enough to know that yet.

Strips down the paint leaves behind the brick.
These large area strippers make short work of removing paint from brick. I am stripping a fireplace and it works perfectly and is relatively low dust.It does however not do that great of a job at removing excess mortar from the bricks. I wish my bricks were a bit cleaner before they got painted.

Didn't work on old, flaking water-based stain
I have an area on our shop that the original owner had stained using some weird water-based product which produced a sort of plastic coating that now, after 10 years, is only adhering to portions of the wood. I tried sanding, brass wire brush, even scraping, but the soft cedar siding was taking a beating and the stain wouldn't budge.Thought I'd try this, although it's not specifically made for this application, I had hopes it might knock down the stain without damaging the wood. Well, it didn't damage the wood, but it also did not even touch the stain. I finally resorted to a razor blade scraper and tediously removed the old stain by hand.Since this stripper wasn't made for the project I used it on, I thought I'd give it a try on some rusty pipe to see if it did well in its intended use, and it did easily remove rust from the pipe, but it does require some finesse to keep the finish consistent. I had better luck and quicker results doing the work by hand with the regular 3-M green scrubber pads.

Stay away from wire brushes and wire wheels
This is the fastest and easiest way to remove paint on a metal railing. After useing a sanding disc, wire brush, and wire wheels. And getting wire splinters in our feet which have flown all over the room and imbedded into our carpet. This is the best . Protect yourself & family and pets from metal splinters. You get an amazing finish our metal raiiling looks like it was just made. Where going to clear coat it and let it shine.

For Wood, I don't think so
I am removing the paint from our existing cabinets. I thought this product might speed things up a little. It is a 3M product so I thought it would do the job. I tried a little test area in case something bad happened. First off the product says to limit rpms to 3500. That is fine except I don't know how many rpms my drill is at. That being said I decided to give it a go ahead. When removing paint from the wooden cabinets it seemed to rough up the surface of the wood and embed paint into it. I thought it would remove the paint cleanly but it definitely did not.I found the Stanley paint scraper to be far more effective in removing paint from wood. As far as metal goes I don't know since I have not tried it. I assume it would work much better. But then I ask would it work better than a wire wheel? I don't know. But if you are removing paint from wood, I would look at a different product.

Better than a regular sander.
This product saved me a TON of time.Absolutely amazing. Fast. Better than my sander.Beware the drill will get hot and you think it may burn out but it doesn’t. It is an amazing product.

Works Great!
I used it to remove layers of paint and varnish off my cedar siding. It does a great job. Just need patience if you are doing a really large area but you'd be happy you did it. When used on wood, move along the grain to avoid excess stripping.

It grinds
Not sure what to say here... it does what it's supposed to do.

Didn't do much on a normal drill..
Maybe it will work for some of you but it didn't do much for me to remove paint from some bricks. From my research, it looks like these will work great with angle grinders since they spin a lot faster than drills. Overall, looks like a solid product but my drill isn't fast enough to make it work properly.
