Patty Paper Geometry

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! I did not order patty paper with the book, but should have. Patty paper is not easy to come by, unless you go to a restaurant supply store. This is a very fun, cool way to teach geometry topics to your students! I was introduced to this book at a math conference and could not wait to get home and order it! Much cheaper than in stores or at the book fair!

Used as independent exercises to supplement an existing unit, as a replacement unit, or together with Discovering Geometry or Exploring Geometry with Geometers' SketchPad, students can actually "see" abstract ideas in very concrete terms that help them make sense of the concepts. I've used these activities since the book came out, but I've had to keep buying new copies because colleagues borrow mine then never seem to return them!

Easy to use book full of great ideas from simple to complex problems.

Good book if you want to use Paddy Paper activities in your Geometry Classroom.

I really like the text "Discovering Geometry" by the same author, but the district didn't re-adopt his book. This paperback book has a lot of great activities for the geometry classroom that are easy for a new teacher to use no matter what text the district adopts. Also, there are puzzle-type figures in each section that are terrific for review.

Great way to spend time learning about geometry - hands on activities always increase learning.

Would highly recommend this book for math or geometry teachers. It provides hands on learning ideas for many concepts that are abstract. Excellent book. The student workbook corresponds well with it.
