VQ Retro Emma Bridgewater DAB+ Radio with 30-Pin Dock - Black Toast For iPhone 3G/3GS/4/4S, iPad 2/3, iPod Touch 1/2/3)

If my nearly 20 year old says "wow that's got good sound," I know it has! He said it is crisp and clear, which it is.I got this for my new sewing room, as I wanted to listen to the music on my iphone in there and DAB radio. I had looked at DAB with built in bluetooth, but after looking for what seemed like hours, I finally determined that this would be better for my needs as it had the docking station, which means I can charge my phone as well. You can now get a newer model of this, which has the built in bluetooth, but as that was £100 and I felt I wouldn't use that functionality, I decided on this warehouse deal at £63.40.I love the amount of colours that you can get this radio in. I plumped for the emerald green in the end, as felt out of all the colours it would go best in my room, and it does.It was easy to set up, although I haven't done the presets yet, but the instructions state you can save 10 channels as the presets and I don't have to use the aerial extended, as we get such good signal where we are, which is a bonus. The ipod dock works well, charges and plays, currently sitting here listening to it.The volume can go reasonably loud and even as it gets louder the quality is still crisp and clear. Not that I will be playing it at ear ache inducing decibels, but I can see someone in our house doing so when he thinks no one else is in!!!I like the display on this, it is black with a sort of aqua blue typeface and is easy to change between the DAB, the ipod and the FM radio. It also has an aux-in if you wanted to use other music players with it.One of the things I like, which I don't have on my pure evoke 2, which is in the kitchen, is the fact that you don't have to necessarily turn it off at the mains, as it has an on/off switch at the back of it. For me, I will make use of this, as where it is plugged in is a nightmare to get at socket wise.It was larger than I expected, but not huge and fits perfectly in the space that I cleared for it.The dock for the iphone pushes in and out. It may just be this particular radio, but it is quite tough to open it. I like the fact that you don't have to have it always open though. This mirrors a pure contour I have in our bedroom and aesthetically it just makes it look better.I am pleased that I ordered this, it is exactly what I wanted, the emerald green is a beautiful colour and contrasts well against the cream of the main body of the radio and the display.I have an iphone 6 plus and it fits perfectly on the dock with the buttons still accessible.The only thing that I can think would make this unit even better, would be the addition of a remote control, but really that is just me being lazy, as if I want to change stations I have to stand up, I know stand up, in this day and age, how very dare they lol.

Marvellous! I didn't have much to do, It took two minutes for me to unwrap and apply my iPhone and it worked immediately, excellent sound from speakers, very good DAB radio and the clock adjusts itself. I can't fault anything about it and love the fact that this quality is made in the UK!I could have had so many different colours and opted for blue to go in my lounge where it fits in beautifully, would look nice in any room.

To be used in the bathroom I figured that needing to replace the batteries every 4 days ( 15 mins use per day ) indicated that I had a defective product. I returned the radio and the replacement was exactly the same. I have a Roberts DAB and that's power hungry but this is ridiculous. I'm led to 2 conclusions. Either the battery life is dreadful and it's not really a portable radio (?) or I've had 2 defective products in which case I have lost confidence in the brand. I'm getting a refund and another Roberts!1 star because it looks nice and I can't submit a review without awarding at least 1 star!

So disappointed! First things first - the 'face' is a slightly cheap looking yellow/cream colour, not a nice clean white or cream. Not the end of the world if everything else is ok. BUT it isn't. I like listening to my iPhone at night and even the lowest volume setting is too high. Also, I don't like being blinded by my alarm clock display but there's no dimmer, so there's nothing I can do. This morning the alarm didn't wake me because the volume settings for the radio and iPhone are different and when the volume is at its lowest setting for the iPhone for me to listen to at night the volume is too low for the radio to be audible in the morning. My previous iPhone dock/alarm clock permitted you to set the volume for the alarm independently - brilliant idea. Basically, I have trouble getting to sleep because the display is too bright, the iPhone volume too loud and when I do get to sleep it doesn't wake me up in the morning because the volume from the night before is too low for the radio alarm to be audible to humans. One more thing - when it's playing the radio or from my iPhone it doesn't display the time - it's a clock, isn't it?! Shame, because it looked nice and it's British.

Looks great, sounds great and does everything it says it should. The only reason I've given it 4 out of 5 stars is down to the fact you can't set the date and time manually (unlike the Retro Mini DAB), the date and time can only be done by syncing with the date and time of whichever radio station being listened to. This is fine if you live in the UK but I have since learnt that this does not happen if you live overseas and listen to local radio (which is my case). Ultimately though, unless you're buying this radio for its clock and date feature, it isn't a huge issue and I would buy this again.

Easy to set up and the sound is crisp and well balanced, both as a radio and dock for my iphone 4s. I like the retro design which I bought in black and it is of good quality.The delivery was timely and the product well packaged.

The look of this radio is superb and all the features come with what you'd expect from a DAB radio - when I first received the product I couldn't have been happier. Now 8 months after using it, the radio still works as it should but the charging dock now doesn't work which I believe is because the charging port rotates in it's dock(I'm sure there's a reason but I couldn't figure out why). I think with the movement of the dock as you plug the device in, the wires underneath have worn to a point where it would only charge if the phone was tilted away from the radio at about 45 degress until over the last few weeks it has stopped working completely.Overall, the radio is good and it looks great but if you're looking for longevity in a charging port then this isn't it.

This was an amazing product which I highly recommend. Multi functional - great sound quality, great radio channels and to add to it a beautiful finish. Delivered quickly and efficiently I couldn't of asked for a better service and product. A great buy!

Guter Empfang und guter Klang des Radios, dank DAB.Iphone kann auch direkt am Radio aufgeladen werden.Sieht richtig gut aus.

Le produit est globalement bon pour une radio ... mais j'avous avoir été un peu déçu par le son ... je suis un peu exigent.la recharge pour l'iphone est pratique solide... rien a dire de ce coté, le design vraiment sympa ... mais les boutons ne sont pas tres pratique et il manque quand meme le Bluetooth... et la possibilité de le piloter depuis le téléphone...

Gut verarbeitetes DAB+ Radio, besonders gefällt mir das braune Leder um das Gehäuse. Sieht auch genau so aus wie auf dem Bild. Die Farbe des restlichen Gehäuses bewegt sich eher im Farbbereich Vanille, passt somit auch gut zusammen und wirkt wärmer als reines weiß. Vielleicht ist das dem ein oder anderen ein wenig zu plastisch, in Gänze aber ein schönes Teil!Die Funktionen sind völlig ausreichend. Der Auszug für das Iphone ist ebenfalls in Ordnung. Das Verbindungsteil, auf das das Smartphone raufgesetzt wird, ist sehr flexibel und damit kann das Iphone auch sicher am Radio angelehnt werden (und steht schräg). Dies ist gewollt und nicht wie fälschlicherweise in einigen Bewertungen geschrieben ein Qualitätsmangel und eine wacklige Angelegenheit.Der Sound ist definitiv gut für das kleine Radio und ein toller Begleiter, den man auch gut mal am Lederhenkel mitnehmen kann ;-)Ich bin sehr zufrieden, dafür lohnt sich der Preis!

Hab das Teil jetzt seit knapp 3 Jahren hin und wieder im Bad im Einsatz. Die Haltbarkeit geht i.O.Mechanisch ordentlich verarbeitet und als Retro Design auch ganz schick.Der Klang ist so lala, für Nachrichten und Sprache ganz gut verständlich. Für Musik fehlen Höhen und Tiefen. Klar das die kleinen Lautsprecher keinen abgrundtiefen Bass erzeugen können, aber etwas mehr wäre auf Grund von Volumen des Gehäuses schon möglich gewesen. Viele Radios und viel kleine Bluetooth Lautsprecher bekommen das oft besser hin. Das 30-pol Doch kann ich nicht nutzen, da ich ein solch altes iPhone nicht mehr habe. Das war aber auch nicht der Grund des Kaufes. Es sollte in der Küche (Erdgeschoß) stehen und mich beim Frühstück mit den neuesten Nachrichten und etwas Musik versorgen. Da hatte es einen schönen Platz direkt an der Aussenwand. Leider können die Engländer nicht nur keine Schiffe und Autos bauen die fehlerfrei und ohne Katastrophen funktionieren, sondern offenbar auch keine Radios. Im Ergeschoß ist der DAB+ Empfang nicht möglich. Und der FM Empfang an gleicher Stelle bringt zwar Sender, aber diese sind so verrauscht, dass es einem graust. Es liegt nicht an unserer Region oder am Standort, denn an gleicher Stelle funktioniert ein Lenco DAB+ "Küchenradio", auch nur mit einer Teleskopantenne ausgerüstet einwandfrei und bringt mehr als 20 Sender.So kann es leider nur im Freien oder im 1. Obergeschoß im Bad genutzt werden. Und auch dort nur bedingt, denn wenn man sich im Raum bewegt, gibt es oft Aussetzer im Empfang.Sehr schade, denn es sieht wirklich gut aus. Aber das tun Landrover und Jaguar ja auch....Leider für das Gesamtpaket nur 2 Sterne.
