Paths to Satan: A Guide to Contemporary Satanism

A good basic introduction
A Satanist recommended this book to me. It is a very basic introduction, and I feel this is best for open minded people who want to get an emic perspective of Satanism from an actual Satanist...without necessarily converting. There are some copyediting issues in the book. Grammar fanatics might find it hard to ignore some of the errors. I also find that the book relies too much on drawing comparisons between Satanism and Christianity, with repeated references to the Church, etc. The book also takes quite a few jabs at Christianity, which may make it hard for non-Satanists to really get the important messages of this work. This would be a great read for an undergraduate college course on religious studies or anthropology of religion. It reads almost like an informational religious pamphlet. It can also be helpful to people who are coming out as a Left Hand Path practitioner to help them succinctly communicate a complex spirituality to more simple-minded people.

A well focused review of aspects of Satanism .
This book clarified very substantially the range and elements that are involved in Satanism, for example starting with nontheistic to theistic Satanism . Also a thorough review was made regarding the various elements involved in dealing and developing relationships with the demonic , and finding those that directly resinate in order to grant wisdom ,direction and assistance . Also covered is the need of responsibility and accountability , this was especially important as per those critical of the Satanic point of view, it is thought that those who are Satanist are not accountable and not responsible , I think this false belief was put to rest by this book . Also the author has a background in Christianity and therefore has dimensional awareness to bring to a bear in the creation of this remarkable book . Finally the concepts of empowerment and enablement are brought to the attention of the reader through various methods . In essence a book of great insight and encouragement .

Its a perfect learning book for those who want to walk the path of a Satanist
I've read the whole book and I have to say that I learned a lot from it. The Author of this book deserves 5 points for this remarkable piece of work. It tells you about different types of Satanism to explaining the true meaning of what Satanism is all about. It explains rituals, history, and reveals the deceptions that Christianity have been spreading for centuries. Although the one thing I don't like is that the Author left out Luciferianism, I don't know why cause the luciferian philosophy could've been added to the information written in this book too. It would've informed readers of what the Luciferian believes in but anyway it's still a great read and I recommend this book to any person who wants to learn and/or walk the path of Satanism. I'm never getting rid of this book.

Hail Satanism
After reading this great book,I really enjoyed the authors way of explaining the truth of what being a satanist is and isn't. For those looking at the path to this way of life,it really answers many questions. This is not a book of magic spells or rites,if your wondering.I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an open mind, and interested in learning the many aspects of satanism in this time and age. I rate this book a five-star...it's my personal belief that those who choose this path and way of life, agree it's far from evil, far too long has humankind been lead too believing otherwise...May this book open the path of truth and enlightenment for all...Ave Satanas!!!

Short but good for beginners
The book takes a theistic point of view on Satanism, but it explains the main other verisons of Satanism in a few short paragraphs. As a beginner in studying Satanism, it was very helpful and it explained things quite well and helped me shift more towards it as a religion. It helps you understand Satanism, the people who follow it, and how to explain it to friends and family if you choose to tell them.I read the book in roughly an hour, but it was a good source for a beginner.

An easy to understand
An easy to understand, excellent primer for the newcomer to the field of Satanism. As a practitioner of 30+ years, I found nothing new inside, but I would recommend this to anyone who thinks Satanism might be their true calling. This book sets out some of the basic facts while dispelling more than a few myths. A good starting point written from the point of view of a practicing Satanist. There aren't enough books on the subject written from the inside.

Great Book. an END to the Stigma and Ignorance about Satanism. 5 Stars and even More !! ..
"The Satanism of today is not an evil religion, nor was it, ever. It is a spiritual system devoted to personal development. It is a path to self-empowerment, as well as emotional, mental, and spiritual health and happiness. Satanists are not evil or bad people. They are regular, law-abiding, working people. People who want to research and learn, and make decisions based on reason and fueled by intellect."(McGreggor, Martin (2012-12-11). Paths to Satan: A Guide to Contemporary Satanism (p. 59). DB Publishing. Kindle Edition.)Thank You, Martin McGreggor, for this Great Book. It's one of the BEST Ever (about this Subject) .finallyyy (!!!) Someone puts an END to the Stigma and Ignorance about Satanism. 10 Thumbs Up. LoOOOove it !! . . .

Good intro to theistic Satanism
Though I'm not a theistic Satanist, nor do I understand it, I did greatly appreciate the acknowledgment of what could be the most common or popular branches of Satanism. For anyone looking for a guide into what theistic Satanism is or "should" be, this is a good place to start; its writing presents what would likely be off-putting to most in a very knowledgeable, easy-to-digest format that doesn't come off as spooky or cultish. For any fellow Satanists looking for a comparable perspective written from an atheistic Satanist perspective, I would recommend The Satanic Narratives: A Modern Satanic Bible.

I found this to pretty much only cover this particular authors form of satanism
Since I found myself deeply interested in satanism and all its forms lately I looked for books on the subject. I thought this seemed interesting so I gave it a shot. It took about two weeks for me to get it and during that time I did a lot of research on the net. As I got this book I found it to be EXTREMELY basic and not very detailed at all. Also, I found this to pretty much only cover this particular authors form of satanism. This disappointed me since I thought it would cover more than that (absolutely nothing wrong with only writing about your personal faith off course, and maybe I just misunderstood what the book was about, but again I thought it would be more broad). It is called PATHS to Satan after all.The author condemns the more "traditional/evil" forms of satanism, dismissing them as mostly angry teenagers, without much discussion. Since it is about a religion mostly known for "worshiping the devil/evil", and this is supposedly a beginners guide to satanism I think a little reflection on what "good and evil" means would be fitting. Very general claims are also made regarding what satanists do are also made, like all satanists takes care of their bodies by eating healthy and excercises... Again, this is probably how the author lives and that's fine, but it seems like he makes way to general claims about how "real" satanists thinks and acts while being very dismissive about those who follow different paths.I can't really recommend this book unless you're interested in this one particular satanists daily life, thoughts and beliefs. I don't think it should be used as a beginners guide since it doesn't cover the various forms of theistic satanism and has very little discussion/reflection(that I find interesting and important that is).

Reads well
Definitely very basic but great for a beginner. Anyone who’s interested in Satanism and has no idea what the core of its teachings are. Suitable for atheistic and theistic. Quite a small book which can easily be read in a day. I personally didn’t learn anything new but it’s good to add into the collection.

Great read for any on their journey.
Thoughtfully written. Whether Theistic or atheistic satanist there is something for everyone. This is not an all in composing guide to the many forms of satanism, But merely an introduction to the broad principles. Food for thought and strength for the Journey.
