I am happy with this Cayenne Pepper. I sprinkled it outside my balcony door and .. no more Ants! I guess Ants do not like Pepper. Excellent Cayenne Pepper. It's also great in chili!

We know some folks tend to shy away from eating anything spicy, so the very mention of cayenne used in a recipe may have them automatically turning the dish down when it is offered to them. However, cayenne, when used in moderation, adds loads of flavor and very little heat. So, we use it in all kinds of things, particularly in anything needing to be dredged in flour. I simply sprinkle it into the flour (along with small quantities of seasoning salt, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, and paprika), whisk it all together, and then dip the protein I'm cooking in it before pan frying. It is also great in homemade taco seasoning, and it always goes in the pot when I'm making Cajun or Southern recipes. Needless to say, I use a lot of it, and this size package saves me money and ensures I always have it on hand. Of course you can get less expensive store brands at other places, but those brands often are lackluster in taste. That's why we rely on McCormick seasonings. They always are bursting with flavor and delicious. Also, here's a tip we learned at the Santa Fe School of Cooking years ago: if you really want to release the flavors of your dried spices, heat a dry cast iron skillet over medium heat and warm up your spices for a minute or two before adding them to the recipe. The heat releases the oils in the spices, and the result is more robust flavor and an aroma that will fill your house with mouthwatering smells. You'll love it!
