Q: Is there a trick to expand this bar? No amount of twisting in any direction unlocks it as shown in the picture and described on the directions.

This bar has the same mechanism as any telescopic handle. Just twist the bar counter clockwise holding it by the opposite ends an it will unlock. Twisting it clockwise will lock it at the current length.

Q: Is there a weight rating for this bar? I need one that can be loaded pretty heavily!

I haven't been able to find one on Amazon or the Bell website, however I have loaded it up a little better then halfway full of clothes, for extended periods and didn't have issues. Some have complained about the plastic hooks (on the bar) breaking but that hasn't been my experience at all. I would say you are safe if you have the hooks in your car as you will use the metal rings to suspend the bar. If you have only handles to hang the bar from (like me) then you will use the plastic hooks on the bar to suspend it and that is when others have complained. Again I haven't shared that experience. Hope this helps.

Q: Would this rod fit in a Honda Civic 2012 model? I am moving to another state and want to hang a lot of clothes that are packed in green garbage bags.

This rod will fit in your car as long as you have one hanging hooks on each side of your inside roof, this is a very heavy duty rod and it will carry your cloths easily.

Q: Does this fit a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid 4 door

it's adjustable. it fit my 2003 accord, also fits my 2015 CR-V
