Good, Solid Cane
I preface my review with this: I rate it 5 stars but in that 5 star, I consider the price as a factor. Is this as good as and in the same league as my much more expensive canes? No, but I paid less than 1/2 of my next most expensive one, so that is a factor in my review. The Brazos Handcrafted wood cane 37" is a good, strong and sturdy cane, with good weight and a solid feel. The color is not red oak but more of a walnut. I thought perhaps I was sent the wrong cane but the 2 stickers on it both said Red Oak...It is brown, like walnut, but I really don't mind. Just not the color pictured in the site. The finish is not as smooth and refined as my much more expensive canes, but it is more rustic, and has a slight ( very slight) rough feel to it. Now, the actual feel while using: very well built, no warp or wobble. The curved handle is substantial, but very comfortable. My usual size for a cane is 34 inches but this is 37 inches. I am leaving it this height since the 'crook' style handle is very comfortable no matter the length. I am overall very pleased with it, and considering it is less than half the cost of my next most expensive cane, it was well worth the money, and will probably outlive me. A good coating of wax was all that was needed to bring the finish to life. If I ever lost this one, I would most definitely get another. For the record I am 5'9" 165 lbs, and the 37" although perhaps a bit too long for me based on cane sizing charts,, feels good in hand. Not only does it help with mobility, there is no doubt one could use this in a self defense capacity should the need to take care if some 'social issues' arise.

Best hardwood cane for the price you can find!
I recently acquired this cane due to medical needs, and I couldn't be more impressed. It's constructed from solid, durable hardwood, which gives it a sturdy, reliable feel. The ability to adjust the height by cutting the wood yourself is a fantastic feature, ensuring a perfect fit for anyone. This cane offers excellent balance and traction, thanks to its high-quality rubber tip. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of a cane, whether for short-term or long-term use. Plus, the price is exceptionally reasonable for the quality you receive.

Excellent, even for self-defense
This cane is well made and solid. It is solid and long enough for use as a self-defense cane. I have been able to use it for training in the kenpo-jitsu form of cane defense and it is perfect. It is also an excellent length for taller people. I am 6'4" and it fits well.

A touch of class
I have carried a walking stick with me for the last thirty years or so, a plain chestnut cane that I still use from time to time around the house if my back goes out. I bought this Brazos Walking Stick as a treat for me. It is well made, somewhat heftier than my chestnut cane, which is a good thing. The red oak is an elegant, understated color that goes with anything, and the craftsmanship is first rate. It would be a substantial tool should I need to defend myself from rascally dogs or highwaymen, effective for just about any self defense need short of a bear. I feel good having it and I feel good using it. I think a person should select their own cane because it is the only part of your outfit that doesn't really change, and it needs to suit your taste for you will be using it for a long, long time. If this is the style that appeals to you, I cannot imagine you will find one better made. Enjoy.

Not a first run product, but a good price.
I have other Brazos products that are perfect, this one is not but the price makes it worth the difference. The finish is peeling off in various places. I will eventually sand it off and refinish myself. The cane has a slight warp top to bottom which might not be perceived by all. Shaping defects in the handle are perhaps from a less than sharp tool. A second then, but still sturdy and well priced.

If you appreciate Quality & Beauty ……
I found that I would probably need a cane for many years if not the duration of my life. After using several… cheap/expensive/different hand grips/foldable or non…. I realized I really liked one with a hook handle so I could hang it over my arm or an object without it crashing to the ground all the time…..and being in everyone’s way.ENTER THIS CANE!!! It’s sturdy, solid oak, has a very professional finish and staining. I say for man or woman and the wood turning on it is smooth and also checks the mark of very fine carpentry.I’m female 5’9 (would work for 5’7 to 6’ I’d suggest) I like my cane up to my hip joint and since I am a type A personality, I would not use a delicate thin or bent cane with personality…. As cheap wood makers suggest. This cane looks like it cost me 3 or 4 times what this fine company has sold it to us all for.My blessings to the craft people and the company for a price anyone disabled should be able to afford and be very proud of.

Wrong color
I ordered the cherry oak and got brown instead. The finish is a little rough. Otherwise, nice cane. Light and sturdy.
