Product Description The Vornado ATH1 effectively circulates heat, without the need for oscillation, using V-Flow Heat Circulation. With V-Flow Heat Circulation, a high volume of warm air is continuously moving throughout the room, ensuring everyone is comfortable. With a typical heater the area directly in front of the unit is very warm but without any means of circulating and forcing the air throughout the room, the warm air rises to the ceiling, leaving the rest of the room cool. The ATH1 features an electronic LCD display with touch screen controls for easy operation. Precisely maintains set temperature using Automatic Climate Control. Sturdy base, 2 heat settings, and advanced safety features. 5 year limited. From the Manufacturer IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL DISCLAIMER: This item is built to meet U.S. voltage requirements and may not function properly when used in conjunction with external devices that alter or convert voltage or frequency of electricity. Improper use or shipping the product outside the U.S. will void all warranties.

Good design but unreliable
My wife and I are amazed at how large an area this heater can handle, and the thermostatic control is a very nice feature. Our 1800 sq. ft. finished basement runs pretty chilly in the winter but this unit keeps it comfortable. Don't be fooled by it's smallish size.Highly recommended.Update one year later:The first unit we received smoked and stank up the house with that characteristic scorched electrical smell when components short out and burn the first time I plugged it in. The replacement unit worked fine and prompted my initial five star review, but one year later it has failed similarly to the first one. So now I don't think the first failure was a fluke.Hopefully the five year warranty will be honored and I can get a replacement once I bear return shipping costs.

Unobtrusive heater that won't wake you up
Heats up the room just fine, and the controls are fairly intuitive. I like that the heater spreads the airflow out evenly and doesn't require oscillation. The description indicates that it can intelligently maintain a room temperature without clicking on and off. It did keep a steady airflow, but wasn't great at keeping a steady temperature. It's smaller than Vornado's tower fans.I use a space heater at night so that I don't have to heat the entire house, and the fact that this heater doesn't oscillate and doesn't constantly click on and off makes it well-suited for the task. If you don't want this to get the room to hot and want to keep a very steady temperature, this might not be the best option.

Super Surprised!
I bought this heater expecting it to heat up the master bedroom located away from the rest of the living space. We sometimes use the gas log fireplace in the living room causing the central heat to not kick on and making the master bedroom become a bit chilly. This heater made the bedroom so cozy that I tried it in the large open living/dining area with a cathedral ceiling. Somehow the heated air travels all around the space and like the gas fireplace, heats up the entire area. We love the way the heat circulates and keeps the areas at a cozy level of warmth. We purchased a second one for the bedroom since this one is doing an exceptional job in the living room. It's very quiet, stays cool to the touch, and heats amazingly well!

Reduced heating cost by 1/3
Wow...It works great. I'm using this in the living room of my apartment (approx 16' x 35') instead of the baseboard heater that came with our unit. Our power bill went down significantly- about 1/3 during the coldest part of the year. It paid for itself already and then some. Attached is a copy of my power usage from the Electric Company( we are billed bi-monthly). I started using it Nov 2017. I have saved about $250 compared to last year's billing.

does the job ok
I purchased this for a nursery that is 12x16 with 8 for ceilings. There are two Windows with Roman shades that have thermal lining on them and I love in northern California, where we don't have extreme temperature drops.Overall this does the job but the temperature guage is way off. My desired temperature is 67, but in order to get that, and keep it around that temperature, I have to set the tower to 74 degrees. Even then in still see the room get to 68 and in the morning when I go in, the temperature is down to 65.I did get a lemon the first order I placed as the fan wasn't working, but kudos to Amazon for the easy return and replacement.

Best Little Heater Out There
We just remodeled our bath and now have a large open shower. I wanted a heater that would warm the room quickly. I was amazed at how well this little heater works. When it arrived and I unboxed, my thought was this thing is not going to work at all. I was wrong. Turn it on with a setting of 80 degrees, in 5 minutes the room is warm. It works so good I have to turn it off as soon as I get out of the shower. Great Heater

Does the job ... LOUDLY.
Love the science, hate the noise. I have a Vornado fan, and love how well it performs. I was hoping the heater would be the same. As far as getting a room warm quick it does the job (10' x 14'). Unfortunately the noise it makes is very distracting. The temperature control function kept the fan on at all times, and kicked in the heater element as needed - meaning the noise was a constant issue.

Hasn't been cold enough here to use it much as yet but the few times I have used it it worked great.
Puts out a lot of heat for a small heater.. Will heat a 12x12 room in no time.. I do wish it had a remote to make it easier to turn on and off etc.. Hasn't been cold enough here to use it much as yet but the few times I have used it it worked great.

Okay for the price I paid - $130
I bought this when it was on sale for $130.Pluses:Small form factorStraight forward heat controls - up or down.Has an auto mode and continuous modeCan be used as a heater or a small fanTwo speed fanVornado has pretty decent after sales support and 5-year warranty.Whisper quiet and tip over shutoff monitor.Minuses:I suspect it won't heat a larger room so it is for backup purposes only; not powerful enough if your furnace conks out in the dead of winter. No remote control. No pre-filter to clean off any accumulated dust. Manual say you have to vacuum dust from front and back vents and use a compressor or pressurized air tank to blow off dust.No idea of actual wattage requirements. For $130 not bad.
