Kohler 1222873 Quick Connector Kit Part

Easy to install

Excellent product from Kohler. I bought to replace mine which broke from freezing. Now I blow down the line each winter for season closeout. Small compressor working at the air-over-water pressure tank let's me blow down the hot water tank and all lines much faster than gravity drain. The Kohler fitting line will not gravity-drain by nature of its construction. It must be air-forced. All good for years now. Its mostly plastic, as it should be, for cost and function. Better it broke rather than the line bursting from freezing.

Bad design by Kohler to have this connector (and flow restrictor?) that is so easily clogged by normal debris in such an inaccessible place. This replacement part solved my problem for the time being.

Fixed the water pressure issue. I believe the original likely clogged with copper sediment after sweating on a new shut off valve for the dishwasher. I even flushed the lines, but some still got picked up. I’ve heard this is common with this style cartridge. Glad I have water pressure again.

The item worked very well but the plastic/nylon clip was not in the package nor was the O rings I used the original clip and had O rings. It installed easily and doesn’t leak

After reading reviews, I removed my old one. Compared it to the picture of this one and verified that they looked exactly the same. It was easy to install, fit perfect, and has not leaked.

I ordered this despite it being slightly different than my current one. It did not fit on the upper end which requires the quick connect. See another review that posted a photo of both - same as mine. However, my problem was that my water flow had suddenly become way too HIGH. After examining the new one, I found that each has a detachable (unscrew) short section on one end that on mine was empty and on the new one has a round plug with holes in it. I believe mine had blown out and that is why I was having very high flow. So I removed the short section from then new one and replaced my current piece with it, and all is well again. I also sprayed some vinegar water in the old unit to clear up some scale while I had it apart.

The Kohler kitchen faucet was leaking and I went to Kohler's Parts and Support page to identify the part number. It was super easy to disconnect and replace the connector and the small leak stopped. I noticed there is an o-ring in the unit and maybe replacing that would fix the issue. I would probably try replacing that next time before ordering this entire connector kit.

Product came fast and I was able to fix my tap. The original had cracked and I didn't want to go buy another 200 dollar tap. The part was a perfect fit and I'm happy I did not have to re install a new faucet. Thanks.
