Track 11 didn't work, though, unfortunately. Review: Music That Makes Ya Wanna Sing - I found this album for Mama Jane when she first heard Hozier on TV. I can't remember if it was Ellen or Kelly where she heard his music, but she loooooooooooooooves the sound of his voice. She even loves the way he plays guitar. She even wonders how he makes some of the guitar riffs he does. For example, the song "Shrike" has a guitar riff that reminds us both of something you might hear played on a tin whistle. Probably a very common Irish refrain. One song that moves her to tears is "Just As It Was", which I believe she told me she wants to have played at her funeral. I give this album a solid 5 stars!

Tour de Force
As defined, an impressive performance or achievement that has been accomplished or managed with great skill. Hozier's second album is excellent; the fidelity is remarkable. I haven't heard an album engineered this well since the 2014 edition of David Crosby's "Croz". I purchased the vinyl edition; no issues or concerns were identified. With that said, I clean all new albums with the Spin Clean MKII record cleaner. Hozier has definitely matured; this album reflects genuine talent and ability with much to offer going forward. While I enjoyed the debut album, Wasteland Baby is vastly different - there are layers within the album that truly satisfy on multiple levels. In short, if you're a Hozier enthusiast, buy the album. For those who want more, complete the package with Beirut Gallipoli and Live Dates by Wishbone Ash. That should do it nicely. Cheers!

Great follow-up album that us fans waited a long time for!
If you're a fan of the first album than you're going to like the second one as well. Though I don't think it is quite as good as his debut album, but not many artists 2nd albums are as good or better than their first. I still think it is really really good, to the point that it hasn't come out of my CD changer since I bought it on March 1st (yes I'm old, 40, and still like having the CD!), and it's much better than 90% of the albums I've purchased in the past decade!

Hozier Wasteland Baby
One of my favorite CDs and well played. He has a wondrous voice and dreamy lyrics and most times thought provoking.

The voice! The lyrics!
Lyrics are, as usual, poetic and have underlying meaning. He incorporated the themes from books he has read into his sings. And his voice is just perfect. Soft & sexy to full and powerful. Sometimes you can hear his Irish accent. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how he writes songs & what they mean, and interviews from the past few years. Love Hozier!

positiveなサウンド
Take me to Church

Magnificent piece of work
Hozier has outdone himself on this album. Truly a skipless albums with wonderful songs. From the current political climate, to admiring beauty of nature, to sensing the impending doom in which case, we can do nothing, so we might as well love each other some more. Truly a masterpiece!

Excellent
It's unfortunate that listening to music is such a subjective experience since it makes album reviews very personal. For me though, this album is excellent. From the anthemic opening track "Nina Cried Power" to the closing ballad "Wasteland, Baby!" there's not a duffer on it. But, as I said, that's very subjective and I've never listened to any other Hozier albums (in fact, the only song I've previously heard by Hozier is Take Me To Church! In fairness then, I guess this review isn't of a lot of use if you've listened to Hozier before, but....
