Works well
First, you have to attach the drive directly to your computer. It won't work off a USB hub. When you set up the reader, it will take several sections of your fingerprint into account. You must place and remove your finger a few times for the reader to find the average. After the reader is set up, it's pretty straight forward. There are two partitions to the drive, one public and the other one private. The private section will only appear when you place your read finger on the reader. Otherwise, only the public folder appears.Sometimes, I use the drive on my company computer at work and although I wasn't able to set it up on that computer because of administrative firewalls, I was able to access the private partition when I set up the drive at home on my personal computer and it opened up fine on the company computer. The finger print reader is pretty quick. The private folder opens in a few seconds.

Good choice if you use Apple and Windows
I use an Apple mini, a MacBook Air, and several Windows based notebook computers. These USB sticks will function on both platforms. Probably a bit slow to open on the Mac, but not a big problem. The fingerprint reader pad seems to be sensitive enough, and the overall build quality is very good.

Little complicated but I loved it once I figured it out.
Had some issues with this being in the wrong format-style and had to re-format it to save in the right File System type. But once I did that I found this to be an awesome flashdrive! You can even re-allocate how much of the storage is secured and how much is public so don't despair when you first plug it in and it only says like 258mb is "secure" You can make that almost the entire drive if you want, but I like the mix of half public, half secure.

Works well
Fingerprint is very responsive; activates as soon as the finger is recognized, which is usually the first time. Allows us to pick how much storage should be dedicated to either the secure partition or the insecure partition. Very cool how it has both. I’ve this plugged in for months & haven’t had any issues. Happy they made this product.Hope they eventually make a USB C version!

Fingerprint Reader (installation Software) Not Mac Compatible
UPDATE: - After contacting Lexar they did agree that the software needed to install the fingerprints can only be run on a PC, but once installed the secured partition CAN be accessed by fingerprint on a Mac and I have confirmed it does work. Install the drive, wait for public to mount, use the finger print reader, secure drive mounts. Still not changing review from 3 starsRead some reviews saying not Mac compatible, but after checking the Lexar site and the product specifications, it appeared to say that it was. However, there is a typo in the specs. A superscript footnote is misprinted. The very fine print clearly says that the DRIVE is Mac compatible but the software to set up the finger print reader is NOT MacOS compatible. On the PC:There are no set up instructions and you have to create a different user for each finger you want to register or if you want different orientations of the same finger. (e.g. right thumb, left thumb, index finger, right thumb rotated 90 degrees [given the location and orientation of potential USB ports].Once installed it seems to work well. The software also doesn't explain that you need to create a secure partition, default is that the entire drive is public until you do that. That said it is handy that you can have both secure and public drives, but could be confusing to some.Ultimately, reasonable product to add another layer of biometric security on PCs.

"Only One External Memory Can Be Used" error on an office scanning machine
I bought this because I often scan confidential documents on the office scanner, and want no chance of someone copying it. But I got this error. Reason: this device has 2 FAT32 partitions.Failed workaround: on Windows unplug the USB then plug it back in, don't tap your finger[1], use Disk Management to reformat that partition as NTFS. Now tap your finger and you should see the Secured partition. Now, this should work in your office copier and be reasonably secure. Well, for some reason it still doesn't find it :(BTW, I would not recommend leaving the exe on the public partition. If someone finds this, they could reprogram the fingerprint reader for THEIR finger. But any files would be erased. Probably.
