Very easy way to make impressions that last a long time.
This is the third time I have used marshmallow clay to make impressions of my cat's paws. It couldn't be easier.Instructions with the product are clear & very easy to follow. Making impressions is very easy, even with a cat (cats don't like to have their feet touched). If anything, making an impression is too easy. I tend to end up with an impression of my fingers on the first try. No big deal, just knead it again and roll it out again.I will say that getting a smooth surface with the small rolling pin provided can be difficult. Try using a full sized rolling pin for best results. It takes a matter of seconds to make an impression so I don't understand people saying their kids won't cooperate. If I can get a clear impression with three different cats, anyone should be able to do so with a child. This is a good product at a good price. I like that it is an air dry clay rather than oven bake. It does take a few days for it to dry, but that's no big deal. Just flip it over about once a day for even drying. I recommend this product. I have an impression I made 8 years ago and it still looks great.

Not worth the money
In 2012, for my son's first Christmas we got something very similar to this from Walmart for $5. It worked great! It was easy to use and easy to get his hand print to show up.In 2013, it was my daughter's first Christmas. We wanted to make a hand ornament just like we did for our son. Well, we moved across the country 2 weeks before Christmas so things were a little hectic. We didn't get a chance to go to Walmart and buy it like we had the year before. By the time things had settled down, Christmas was over and the product we wanted was no longer being sold. So we came on Amazon and we found this one. What a disappointment. We got the clay ready and tried to make our daughter's handprint. You have to push so hard and it barely works. She was screaming and I didn't want to hurt her, so we took what we had. We followed the instructions and left it out to harden. Unlike the first one, you don't bake it. It was supposed be something like 24 hours for it be finished. We had it sitting on the shelf for a week. It STILL wasn't hard. We took one more shot and pressed our daughter's hand into it again to deepen the impression. We let it sit out for another week. It STILL wasn't hard. On top of that, her hand print was barely visible. We then tried to bake it for 15 minutes at 325 to get it to where we could at least put it away. That didn't work either. It is now 2 months later and it is still not hard. We still can't put it away. And if you have to stare at it REALLY hard to be able to see the hand print. This product was a complete waste of time, money, and energy.

Favored holiday tradition
I have been buying these for the past 3 years now. I get a set for each of my sons to give to their grandparents as a present. My boys are now 3 & 4, so this will be the 4th set we do. I have tried using other versions, but these are so quick and easy that I just keep coming back to them. The marshmallow is a little bit sticky, but you just have to roll it out large enough for your kid's hand to fit completely when pressed down. After rolling, press the handprint in. Be careful of dirty fingers, because it shows up on the stark white of the clay, although we left one that way once, because it showed better detail on the palm. If you don't like it, mush it up and re-roll. After you are happy with the print, or given up on getting your kid to cooperate, ;-) use the included circle to cut out the handprint. Then, poke a hole for the ribbon, and leave to dry. Make sure to give it some time to dry, because it doesn't happen overnight. The grandparents love them, and they are on display front and center of their trees every year. I think the kids will get a kick, seeing how much they have grown from year to year.

Easy to use, but a little flimsy
This is a great way to create a keepsake of your child. I plan on making one for all my children (maybe even some for the grandparents!).It was easy to use and the instructions were great. The marshmellow clay as a little strange and is very light and fluffy when it dries. I expected it to be more firm. It seems like it would be really easy to just break in half. However, there is a benefit to this, as the handprints made when I was a kid weighed about 20lbs and shattered if they fell. This will be easy to store, slightly protected, and won't make my tree fall over!I would definitely reccommend this product. It would just require some protected storage (as do many Christmas ornaments).

The main disappointment is that the handprint does shrink sizes
The main disappointment is that the handprint does shrink sizes. You can tell because when it's dry, the entire circle is much smaller than the original cookie cut-out circle piece included in the kit that you use to make the shape in the first place. Otherwise the print itself does come out nice when you can get the baby to have even pressure, that is a whole other thing. It would have been great if it didn't shrink. Also it is for sure marshmallow, it weighs almost nothing which can be good in that it won't break, but at the same time it's kinda cheap compared to the real deal heavy clay.

Fun time
First off, I'd like to point out something that everyone I'm sure is thinking when they are looking to buy this kit... YES you can make 2 ornaments from the amount of clay they give you. I bought two kits, and made 5 ornaments, and still have a small amount left over. Each ornament was from the 4.5 inch ring, and about 1/4-1/2 inch thick. So there is plenty! The directions are easy and straight forward. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of two reasons:1) They warp when they dry, nothing crazy or extreme, but none of them sit flat.2) You really need a CLEAN surface and clean hands, because this stuff picks up dirt, lint.. so easy and its a pain to try and remove once you have the print made..But overall, a fun time, with pretty good results.Oh and PS they only give you 1 red ribbon long enough for one ornament per kit...
