Easy install
Couldn't have made it any easier to install this hood lock for the Jeep JK. Took all of 30 minutes. Really like the fact there are no additional keys to carry. Lock codes to your ignition key. Great product for added security on your engine compartment. Not to mention it secures your hood a little tighter when closed.

Mounted on 04 TJ WITHOUT ISSUE.
I mounted this on a 04 TJ, WITHOUT ISSUE. In the box was a bag with two bolts marked for a TJ. They worked perfect in the mounting holes. A ratcheting wrench made it a easy 10 minute install. That included reading the instruction, getting my tools, and setting the parts out. It took me another few minutes to get the mount adjusted and figure out which holes works best on my jack. I have a 48 inch Hi Lift.I saw some reviews saying the holes didn't line up or the bolts didn't work but I didn't experience this. Being fairly mechanical and a problem solver I took the gamble and I'm glad I did. What I found is the mount has a bit of room to adjust it and this is made easier if you screw the bottom brace that presses against the fender in so it's not touching the fender. This gives more room to adjust the mount at the top while getting the bolts started. That allowed me to easily line the holes up and get things tight. I started with the top bolt then the second, going back and forth tightening them down and everything lined up straight. Then after I got everything tight I adjusted the bottom arm out against the fender. I had to adjust this again after mounting the jack because the bottom of the jack was slightly touching the rock guard I have on the bottom edge of the body. A couple turns of the wrench and it was away from the body and not touching anything it was not supposed to.Where I have my door strap, just before 90°, keeps the door from hitting any part of the jack. It's close but doesn't touch. As for mounting the jack I found if you just start the top and then start the bottom they line up easier and you don't get one trying to cross thread. If you tighten one or the other down completely and then try to do the second it doesn't give you any play to make that hole line up. Much like the technique I used to start the mounting bolts. The lock was super simple to set to my key and works well. It feels solid and seems to have a good weather proof keyhole cover. For the $100 I got the mount for I'm very happy.Update: 9-17-21I now have a 2017 Rubicon and the mount went on no different than it did my TJ. I mounted the same jack and they work and look identical.

It provides a little extra security
It works well so far. I don't have a heavy duty rivet tool, so I used some 1/4" bolts and nuts and lockwashers. It's a little tricky getting it tight that way, but it can be done. Be careful mating your key to the lock. It takes more than the quarter turn that you use to lock and unlock it. Just follow the instructions carefully. I bought it just before leaving my Jeep in an airport parking lot for a week so that my battery would still be there when I returned.

Easy to install and very secure!
First, this hood lock fits perfectly with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK & JKU, despite what Amazon's tells you. Some of the reviews talk about how easy it is to bypass this lock but I seriously tried and couldn't do it. Any lock can be bypassed eventually, but It's a deterrent and I'm not worried about someone bypassing this just to steal a battery or other engine components without taking some time. This lock is very well made and durable and installation was a breeze. The fact that it keyed to my ignition key was one of the primary selling points, as I don't want another key to add to my key ring.Installation: It took about 15 minutes to install. You do need a rivet tool that takes 1/4" rivets to install the lock. I bought one with this lock for an additional $20 that worked perfectly fine. The kit comes with 4 rivets and 6 plastic inserts to replace the ones on the front grill you most likely will need to replace one you remove the original ones. There are a few videos on you tube and from the manufacturer that will explain how to install it., but it's really easy. It's great that the key can not be removed when the key is turned to unlock, making sure you don't inadvertently forget to lock it.This should also fix issues with hood flutter at high speeds. The lock tightens the hood once engaged. This is definitely a better option than the hood latches that lock!

Awesome product
Could not find a 1/4” rivet tool, so I used s/steel 6mm round head screw, nut and washer instead. Install was pretty straightforward.

requires a heavy duty rivet gun that can do 1/4 rivets.
Really nice product, and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, a rivet gun that does 1/4 rivets is hard to find around my neighborhood, so I had to get bolts instead.I used 1/4" x 3/4" zinc hex bolts and 3/4" washers. The install wasn't bad. The hardest part was getting the grill removed because my winch was kind of in the way. I had to go in from the inside and wedge a piece of wood between the plastic and a metal bracket that ran along the bottom. Everything popped out easily after that. Actual install of the lock was super easy, and I expect it would have been much easier if I had the rivet gun.If you're going the bolt route, the easiest way to get them started is to place the nut behind the hole and then screw the bolt into it, and not the other way around.Tightening them though is....interesting. You can't really get back there with the proper tools so I just used plyers and then used a flat head screwdriver and leveraged it between the bolt and an interior ledge so the nut wouldn't move as I tightened down the bolt. It worked. I guess you could always throw a lock washer back there and, if I had thought of it, I would have used blue loc-tight. I'll just have to check on it after a while and make sure nothing is coming loose. I have since purchased a rivet gun on amazon that will handle the 1/4 rivets so I may just go back and change it out.Either way, even with my rigged up install, the process was easy and didn't take much time at all. Maybe 30min, not counting having to go to the hardware store and buy the bolts

Robusto y seguro
Realmente fácil de instalar y te da tranquilidad sabiendo que es un producto de calidad. Quizá lo que valdría la pena mencionar en las instrucciones es que se necesita una remachadora de golpe considerando el calibre de los remaches. En general un magnifico producto.

All around a necessity!
After 14 months with summer heat wave, rain, snow and freezing temperatures, I can verify it is still sturdy and functioning. Very easy to install, pay close attention to keying instructions. This Bolt brand is popular as I found my mechanic knew it when I said I have a locked hood. Says he sees them on other Jeep he’s worked on.

Awesome product
Excellent lock for your Wrangler hood. I did not want another set of keys and install after market made in China side hood latches on my Wrangler. I was a little concerned but the product is well made, extremely sturdy, excellent fit and finish. Not really hard to do if you follow the printed directions and follow up with the youtube installation video, maybe and hour or so. It is not all that easy or cheap to find a 1/4 inch rivet gun and when I did it did not work properly so I used flat head stainless steel screws and bolts and it worked just fine. This product is made in America. You do have to change part of your grill which is really no big deal. If you have an after market or angry grill this lock with not work unless you modify the grill yourself.

2021 Jeep 4XE
The rims on the 4XE are different. I took a chance already knowing that, wasn’t a huge deal. I had to add a rubber garden hose washer to stop the sleeve from rattling. It was about 3MM too loose. And yes I tried it with and without the extension. I would purchase again. Not a deal breaker.
