Micropore Tape with Dispenser | 1 inch

I use this tape to tape my mouth shut when I go to sleep and it really works to improve sleep quality!This tape feels cloth-like; it’s flexible, durable, and yet thin and comfortable. The sticky side is REALLY sticky. I put a small half-inch on my mouth (not covering my whole mouth, just the middle of my lips) and head off to dreamland.I used to semi-wake up in the middle of the night with a dry mouth from sleeping with my mouth open, but now I have uninterrupted sleep from sundown to sunup. This tape is far superior to duct tape or any other tape for this purpose. It’s easy to peel off in the morning and doesn’t hurt my lips. The roll is a decent size too.Great tape! And with it being this cheap, I’d recommend just trying it out if you want to improve your sleep.

The Blue Dispenser: I get a lot of use out of the blue dispenser because I refill it with 3M tape. The dispenser is refillable, beleive me I've been using them for years. The blue dispenser easily pops open (basically in half) so you can refill it. Keep in mind that its rather flimsy but I've been using mine for over a year now, and I had 2 years use out of the first one. I use it pretty much every day. When you buy the refills, it becomes very economical to use. It is so convient. I find it super easy to pull the tape out and it easily rips it off the dispenser. These are the refills that I use which fit this dispenser: 3M Micropore Paper Tape - 1 x 10 Yds - Box 12. Make sure you buy the 1x10 (1 inch wide) and not the 2x10 (2 inches wide).The Tape: The tape adheres well. Any tape is going to pull some when it is removed, especially if its been on awhile and on an area where it gets pressed on, like a foot. But this is much eaiser to remove than other tapes I've used. I originally bought it because it is latex-free and my skin gets irritated from latex if its on very long. I can leave this tape on with no irritation. The tape is surprisingly strong yet allows skin to breath. Works great over a gauze pad or guaze wraps.

This is not the same as the image on the product page. I own the 3M dispenser advertised in the image that I bought a few years ago, and this is not it. This does not have 3M on the mold. AND IT DOES NOT WORK WELL AT ALL. They made it too thin, so when the roll of tape is in the dispenser TOO TIGHT for the roll to spin. And I can't return it or get my money back. The old one was about $5, was more square-shaped, and worked great. This is a cheap plastic ripoff that does not do the job intended because they made it too narrow for the tape roll to loosely fit into. And you can't return it. What a joke!

I have to sleep on my back,now and needed a tape like this. It was fine until I stuck it directly on my lip-yikes! Ripped a hole when I pulled it off! User error not the tapes fault. Works very well to keep your mouth shut-just be careful where you place it. I think it needs to be placed beyond the lips and on the face a bit,or on the outer side.

Good price and quality

I have sleep apnea and I sleep with a CPAP machine and I had a problem with my mouth falling open and defeating the purpose of the machine. I have tried straps and they end up sliding off at night. Someone suggested I try this on my lips at night and sure enough it works. I am happy to report that taping my lips together at night gives me a deeper sleep plus I sleep about an hour and a half longer each night. My doctor says this extra sleep is exactly what I need. I wake up feeling more refreshed than I have in decades. It is hardly a bother at all to remove the tape the next morning. I will order this product again.

Many CPAP folks use and love this tape, but I found it too be too sticky in that it leaves a hard to remove residueon after removal. Many folks give up on it. However, I have read some helpful reviews which suggest to first let it stick to some fabric to reduce the tackiness and perhaps be more successful. I plan to try that. Somnifix strips work well, but are a bit of work to unpackage each night and I have to apply some tape over the vent for CPAP so as not to leak air out the mouth. I'll give this another go! The dispenser roll is nice but the cheap plastic "cutter" is crap, necessitating scissors for any precision.

I use a CPAP machine due to having sleep apnea. The machine does what it is supposed to do, but the drawback is that I often sleep with my mouth open which causes my mouth to be dry plus I still wake up feeling groggy and tired. I have tried using chin straps to keep my mouth closed but they just don't work for me. Then I heard about taping your mouth at night and thought this could be the answer I was looking for...and it is. A few strips over my mouth (I have to use more since I have a goatee) and after the first night, I feel better than I have felt in a long time. I doubted that it would work as I thought the tape would not hold throughout the night...well when I got up the next night, the tape held perfectly. I am now getting ready to order more so that I always have an extra roll on hand. This stuff has literally changed my life.
