I bought this to house my 6.7 inch Victorinox Santoku. It's made of durable plastic and holds the blade snuggly.Some customers have complained that the rubber pads that hold the blade in place leaves a "stain". They do not! They leave a small outline on the stainless steel finish that easily wipes off.This is an excellent accessory if you need to transport your knife or just to keep it pristine. And most importantly, protects you from getting an accidental cut.Highly recommend.

Love these, have 6 or 7 of them for my new kitchen knives. Keeps the edge sharp and no worry about slicing your hand when you reach in the drawer to get a knife.

I bought this for my 8 inch Victorinox Fibrox Chef's knife and just as it is to be expected they fit like a glove, and more importantly, the knife do not budge at all inside of it.Yes, the rubber pieces that hold the blade in place leave a small print in the blade that, so far, I have been able to clear without any effort. But even if that was not the case, I rather have my knife secure and well protected than a small stain on the blade.

I take my knife to work with me everyday and this protector makes travel safe and easy. I also love the extra protection in the kitchen. (the knives provided at work get treated poorly.)

I think I'm the only person who didn't give this a 5-star rating. Well, here's my story. First of all, this is the sharpest knife I have ever handled in my entire life. EVER! I had an old, serrated bread knife that I use on the French baguettes that I so love, and it did a good job, and naturally it would leave a pile of crumbs in the course of slicing one up. Not this knife! This thing is so sharp there are no crumbs. It will literally fall through a baguette length-wise with no pressure on the knife at all! It's a razor blade with a handle! If you buy this knife, get a blade guard! Not so much to protect the blade, but to protect YOU! Ask me how I know this!What didn't I like? I figured that if I was going to buy a quality knife that I'd probably keep forever, I'd wanted one that looked good, which is why I paid the extra $10 for the rosewood handle. Well, the handle on the knife I got was not worth the money! It looked awful. It's only a small piece of wood, but one side was darker than the other, and there was a big knot in the wood. I was very disappointed! Why didn't I send it back? I didn't want to take the change of getting a replacement that wasn't as scalpel-sharp as the one I received. I wiped down the handle with mineral oil which darkened it quite a bit, so it looks ok. Whatever. It's just a handle. So, if you want a reasonably-priced, sharp knife, buy one of these.

We have two of these for our 8 in and 10 in Chefs knives and we love them. They work great for storung them in our kitchen drawers and also for when we want to travel with them (Yes, we take our knives to our friends' and family's houses when we are going to cook - we are those people). Our first one lasted ten years with a ton of use, so they also hold up well.

I like that when putting my very sharp Wusthof Classic Chef Knife into it I can just lay it in the "clam shell type" case and close it. My hand never comes close to the blade. The conventional sheaths however I was afraid if I slip trying to insert it into the narrow opening it might cut my hand that is holding it. It also fits my 8 inch blade perfectly. Great product for the price!

These clamp down on the blade and keep it nice and safe while traveling or even in drawers. Make sure to dry the blade completely before storing in these.
