Amazing book! Valid information has been distilled and conveyed ...
Amazing book! Valid information has been distilled and conveyed in layman's language. Great job. So many of us are unaware of the science behind exercise and we get a lot of conflicting data from various formal and informal sources. I have just started my Strength Training journey in the last 6 months. I had to refer to various / multiple sources to get accurate information, it was an herculean task. But with this book, you need not wander around for verified facts She has succinctly clarified all Myths and shown a clear path for great health and exercise. A must read for everyone who wants to embark on a journey of Exercising and Getting Fit. Also a must read for all the couch potatoes of the world! (It may just inspire them to achieve fitness goals).

Good book for a great lifestyle change but not good with terminology used
Good book for changing your lifestyle for better but not good with the terminology used in it. This book caters to people who know English, Hindi and to some extent Marathi languages only. I loved the book for its content but there are many times that the tone was judgmental and condescending. Keeping these two things aside I felt the book was well written and one can learn a lot from it. I'm glad that I will be able to make some good lifestyle changes for my better health.

Mind Blowing - Mind OPENING
Mind blowing rather Mind OPENING. Recommend it to every single person who believes in blowing the myths of our adulterated life. Kudos to Rujuta for sharing her wisdom to the world. Don't just read her books but also ask people around you to read them and spread this valuable wisdom around you because this is the need of the hour. Reading through her books you will realise what kind of a fool you have been all your life and believed in everything you just heard from any tom dick and harry. I wish you write more and more books because I am sure we are not gonna have such efficient and realistic Nutritionist in lots ever! So you might just do this world a favour and keep your wisdom alive forever in the most precious form of Books.

Insight on exercise as a SCIENCE..!!!
This is a good technical book on exercise science. I prefer to read a language not as we speak informally but the contents are good.Very informative, so I use it as a reference book. I would not recommend reading this book in one go to get the best of this book.I have tried to implemented some of the recommendations, it definitely showed improvement on my performance, specially endurance. I am taking it a step ahead by starting Yoga the Iyengar style.

good book with loads of knowledge...
It is a good book to learn about exercise and science behind it. It gives you many myth busters like Ghee is good for health.. Although author had tryed to keep it as non technical as possible but still lots of technical terms end up confusing you. For a serious take away it has to be read twice.

Informative
Another good book by Rujuta after her first book 'Don't lose your mind lose your weight'. The author has explained in detail on how understanding the various energy systems can help us distinguish between which energy system to employ to gain the changes in our body we desire. I thought understanding terms like epoc/afterburn is useful towards understanding the type of exercise one should do to have a fit body for life and does not need to stop after just losing a few pounds. The author emphasizes on fitness being a long term activity and not just end with getting a flat stomach which one anyway cannot sustain without treating exercise as a part of life. I recommend every one desirous of getting a good, fit body to read this book.Having said the above, and being a marathoner myself, I have to say I disagree on the author's criticism of the new breed of aspiring Indian runners running a marathon in what she thinks to be a longish 5 hours. Running a marathon by working professionals like us itself Is a big win for us. We do not aspire to run a marathon in 2.5 hours like elite runners as we do not go through the kind of training they do. However the book on the whole is engaging and a very good read. Go ahead and read it!

Compact manual for beginners on workouts
This is the first workout book I read working out. It is packed with tons of good advice and busts dozens of myths that plague the fitness industry with respect to fads, diet, exercise and even Yoga. Virtually everything I read in the book (eat more fats to lose weight, strength training over cardio) matches what my professional dieticians and trainers say today. Its better to not just start walking as doctor said to lose weight but trust fitness professionals. The tone of the book is chatty and full of Hinglish that made it fun to read.

too technical, but busts a lot of myths
I've read a lot of reviews about this book.. And am confused. 'Don't lose out. Work out!' The name itself communicates that the book is going to promote working out the right way. Hence, common sense guides me to believe that you'd be directed to exercise specialists. When you're ill, you visit a dr. So when you read a book on working out, you'd obviously not be directed to a restaurant. Having said that, anyone who wants to look @ the positive side of this book would benefit out of reading it. It does talk about hiring a trainer, but I don't think the book promotes gymming. Rutuja has specially dedicated a whole chapter on YOGA! And shez not recommending any specific school here aswell. Yoga is a holistic way of life and if one chooses and if done correctly Yoga could be the only form one adopts. This book Effectively communicates a lot! I have spent a lot of time and sweat on spinning and wondered why its not been as effective as expected. Its true that only an exercise specialit would know their job and this book just confirms it. So many myths busted. Am glad I spent good money on this.
