This is an WONDERFUL full-body heating pad. Granted, it is a little pricey, but if you hurt everywhere like I do and are tired of moving heating pads from one spot to another, this is a great investment! Some reviewers mentioned that they put a pad or sheet over to make stones more comfortable but I don't have any issue using it as is (it's not uncomfortable without a covering but as I'll mention below why there is probably a good reason to do so). It comes with a timer I can set for shutoff after 3, 6, or 12 hours (or I can manually shut off at any time), which is nice and a controller switch that goes from 10-70 degrees (I believe - I'm not in front of it right now). Just an FYI - it does NOT vibrate or massage - it's a heating pad only. I will mention that the controller is BIG, AS IS the cord that plugs into the pad so TWO outlets are needed for use (I only mention this if room to plug in and room to place the controller is an issue for anyone). The only issue I personally have had is that I set it to be comfortable for my aches and pains when I get in bed and while I'm waiting to fall asleep (usually set between 22-30) but I often wake up overheated and sometimes my back is drenched in sweat. I'm guessing that is completely my fault and that I need to set the unit lower and be satisfied with less heat initially AND I should be putting a sheet over to help with the heat. I wish I had the time to use it for an hour each day during the day, but personally I don't have the time so my only option is to use it while I’m going to sleep. I do set the timer for a 3-hour window but still sometimes wake up in the morning sweaty. But again - covering the pad with a cotton sheet will probably help that situation. Another great thing about this heating pad is that the neck area (shown as all tan in picture) does NOT heat so I align that under my cool pillow and let the heated section begin at my neck. I'm 5'9 and by putting the unheated flat area under my pillow the mat reaches fully to the end of my queen tempurpedic bed - so it really is full body length!!! Again, it is truly wonderful to have the heat everywhere as I have arthritis from neck to toe so this really saves me from moving a large heating pad around from sore spot to sore spot. It does tend to slip around (ONLY if I cover it with the slick liner that accompanies the unit) and needs to be put back in place but I obviously don't notice after I'm asleep and have since stopped using that cover. Also, I like to put a bolster under my knees which is great with this pad as the bolster then pushes my lower back firmer onto the heating pad which is wonderful for low back pain! If I had time to use it during the day for even an hour I'd love it even more but that's not an option for me - however I still HIGHLY recommend this product!!! I get enormous relief from it and love, love, love it. No more moving a heating pad from spot to spot!(I have NOT been paid or offered a reduced price for my honest review!)

I ordered this product after researching natural methods for relieving pain from an old injury that became aggravated with over-activity. I had tried a friend's infrared mat of another brand, and it helped so much that I ordered this one. I put it on my bed, and the warmth was deep enough to reach inflamed tissues and calm them. I experienced immediate relief and always fell asleep while on the mat set for 3 hours. The mat was comfortable enough to sleep on all night, and even though I had room to roll off the mat, I many times would sleep on it all night. You can set the mat for 3, 6, or 9 hours. The guide helps you determine the correct temperature for length of time settings.I tried many settings to see which were most effective. Doing a higher temperature at shorter times was also effective, but falling asleep on the mat at a lower temperature (like 35 degrees C) was heavenly. I awoke with less stiffness and pain every morning. The effect of putting me to sleep instantly was better than "sleepytime tea".The downside of the product was that because it was not on a totally flat surface (mattress) , the heating was a bit uneven.The area for my torso was perfect, but it was too hot at the lower legs (which for my setup was at the opposite end of the plug in- I could have reversed that of course). Placing a large towel on the mat provided the comfort and protection from hotter areas. Other than that, I highly recommend this mat, which compared to other infrared mats, has similar features, but at a much better price. I really liked the full sized mat size, which allowed the heat from head to toe. If you just have localized pain, you could probably do well with the shorter mat, but I am glad I got the full sized.

This mat is very large and more comfortable than I anticipated. It heats 70-160F degrees. I needed a sauna effect so I cover the mat with a light sheet (there are contradicting instructions on that part) and lay on it with a heavy bath sheet over top, then topped with a aerospace blanket which has mylar to trap in heat on the side facing you and a weatherproof blanket on the other side (available from Amazon also). This layering works very much like an infrared sauna.The mat is clearly helping alleviate pain from a wicked combination of Fibromyalgia and Lyme Disease. The controller differs depending on the size of the mat purchased and the one on mine is very basic and lacking. Otherwise, I have nothing but praise for this item. With some good music, it's a heavenly, relaxing, and healing time spent in my opinion. Worth the price I believe.

Looked at many different brands and spent may days sorting through reviews for an infrared mat. Wanted one that didn't radiate EMF's. Ultimately decided this mat was one of the best for overall performance. I was somewhat concerned about the weight, but 14 lbs. for this size isn't too bad. The price was very competitive. At the time of this review, I've owned the mat for about 3 weeks. Have used it multiple times, and seem to feel less tense and more relaxed after each half hour + or - use. The timer and temperature controls are extremely easy to use. Included is a fitted pad, and a convenient carrying case you can use for storage when not in use!
