Fast, copious, dependable
I have more than one of these and have found them all to be lightning fast, which is important when transferring large files or whole collections of files. I use them for storing photos and the large capacity and high transfer speed eliminates worries about large (especially RAW or TIFF) files. I have been using them for two years, so far without breakdown. If you haven't lost photos through a hard drive failure, let me tell you it's a chastening experience. That's why I chose this product after carefully reading the reviews. It hasn't let me down yet.

This thing could survive a nuclear bomb.
I am massively impressed with this device. Last night I fell asleep while using my laptop in bed. The SSD was under the duvet. When I woke up it was so hot I couldn’t even touch it. Seriously, you could’ve fried and egg on it. I immediately assumed it was knackered and my first course of action was to try and eject it. This didn’t work. I then tried to shut down my Mac. The Ableton Live project I had been working on prompted me to save but it froze up because all of my samples are stored on the SSD. I was panicking at this point and I had to force shut down my Mac. When I rebooted and reconnected the SSD I had a tense minute of waiting.... and it showed up on my desktop. Not a single file corrupted or missing. Live even recovered my work! This little drive could survive a nuclear bomb. As well as this, it’s ridiculously fast and really small and portable. Never recommended a product so much in my life.

A real time saver
If you hate wasting time waiting for files to transfer, then you need one of these in your life. It's smaller than an iPhone x, extremely light and slim. It does get a little warm, but nothing major. I haven't noticed any issues with the cable included - it isn't very long, but it doesn't need to be. My only complaint would be the price. I wanted the 1tb, but I couldn't justify spending £240. 500gb will suffice for now. No doubt in 3 years they will be pennies. With it being so small and fast, it's essentially upgraded my MacBook to 1.5tb. I did consider spending £20 on a thunderbolt cable, but given USB 3.1 bottlenecks at something like 1200mbs, I can't see it making a difference.I mainly use the drive for editing. Although much slower than the built-in SSD, I haven't noticed any difference so far.10gb - 5 seconds (Using a MacBook pro-2018)100gb - 4 minutes (Using a MacBook pro-2018)

Pocket sized and blazing fast
What a great drive, it is small (it will fit into any pocket). That sounds like a challenge.I use this on both my Apple MacPro and Windows 10 machine. On both the speeds are incredible.I thought I would really try the write speeds and I plugged this into a Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC) which shoots incredibly large 4K and 6K files. To my surprise it had no problems, most drives would have melted like ice cream on the 2 days of summer we get in the UK.I notice the price dropped so I bought another one as these are stonking, can’t recommend enough.

Well done SanDisk
Well designed, Extremely light weight, fast and robust. Easy to carry around with the camera kit while travelling. I use it to transfer my videos and photos to this while travelling using a travel router. The transfer is fast.Only downside is it a bit pricey and do not come with a carry case.

Perfect So Far
So far I am very happy with the SanDisk, but it is too early to confirm its long term reliability.I use an iPad Pro or MacBook Pro when travelling - whenever that will be permitted again! Neither device has enough internal storage for some of the less frequently needed data, or movies for entertainment. The SanDisc works perfectly with both devices, giving adequate capacity and good speed. It is also small and light to carry. After recent bad experience with conventional portable drives, I will probably replace the remaining ones with SanDisk SSDs.

Great for watching 4k home movies
I've had an issue for the last year where I have a camera and computer capable of shooting in 4k but not having a delivery system to display this on the family 4k HD TV. When I've used my older portable HD drive I get stuttering and freezing of the video; it just can't handle the high data transfer rates which peak at over 300mbs. This fabulous SSD drive blows that problem away thank God. I have reformatted the drive to NTFS and can now download full 4k home videos at maximum resolution with file sizes greater than 4G and watch with pleasure. Data transfer rates from my windows computer are about 330mbs and I have an LG tv. This drive is very expensive !! but worth it. An easy recommend.

Solid state, solid performance.
Overall I like this little unit. It has solved a storage issue for me, whilst being simple and easy to use. It’s quick enough for me without diving into the specifics and works flawlessly out of the box. On the cons, it runs quite hot even when not being accessed and frankly is massively over-priced for what it is. Still, you get what you pay for I guess.
