Q: any tips on replacing tubes, which screws to undo ect

There could be lots of screws to undo. First, disconnect from electricity and find space to lay out bits. Then remove screws from side panels and maybe along edges of back plate, keep these in a position so that you can remember which ones go where. There may be some screws underneath as well. Be careful with sides and top as there are wires and switches. There are usually two grids at the front so slide carefully out, then make sure you don't touch the tube surfaces. Ease out the old tube and replace just as it was with the new tube, making sure you don't touch the surface except with gloves or a cloth. Then reassemble heater. If you plug in and switch on, the tubes should light up. Good luck!

Q: Will these fit an Astor model HH-500 halogen heater?

I'm not sure but they seem to fit all the Halogen heaters we have, Probably they are universal.

Q: What are the fittings on the end of the bulbs? Spade terminals?

They are not spade terminals bot of the type that fit into a spring loaded socket

Q: Does this have spade terminal connection.

No, the terminal ends of the tubes are a" button" type (not dissimilar to the positive terminals of a AA or AAA or C or D batteries) and they fit into the fire contact/connection points which have/use a "spring" pressure built in to hold the tubes in position and make the circuit.
