Great for fondant & really versatile
These are perfect for fondant and great for novice decorators. The detail transfers well, and they're some of the easiest molds I've used for removing the pieces cleanly. I'd certainly buy them again. I think that, value for money, these are among my favorite molds. With the relatively generic designs, they can be used for a huge range of concepts. Don't forget that you can also cut them into segments for different shapes, or cut following the curves for waves, etc. I used them for a Chinese pagoda and a Harry Potter spell book (see photos), which had very different designs.Usage tips:- Be sure to take time "stuffing" the fondant/paste into the mold with your thumbs to fill all the nooks and crannies. It's worth not rushing this step, because you won't end up redoing anything, and you'll ultimately save time- put your filled mold in the freezer for a few minutes before de-molding so you don't end up distorting your fondant- carefully pull the edges of the mold away from the fondant before de-molding. This will make it less likely to break as they separate.- always turn the mold over to de-mold, push it - fondant side down - against the table, and peel the mold away from the fondant, not the fondant from the mold. This will allow you to have more control and the table will support your fragile fondant. Again, go slowly with this step to avoid breakage.- dust your mold with corn starch first, then tap out loose powder, so the fondant doesn't stick to the mold. You can put a little on your fingers, too, so they don't stick as you're squishing it inThank you for reading my review. I hope it helps you! Happy decorating!

Elegant mold design
I got this yesterday and used it today to make cookies. The design came up nice and sharp on the dough. I got compliments and questions while using it. When I put the sheet trays in the oven the cookies puffed while baking and some of the design was lost. I did let the cookies get cold in the freezer before going into the oven so it would help keep the design. I'll experiment with other cookie doughs (I used a shortbread recipe) in the future. Anyway, it was easy and fun using the mold.

It’s very hard to get clay out of mold.
It was very hard to get a good result. Many clays are too soft but I was using good brands. The strand broke and stuck easily. I don’t like using a powder to help in removal because they can compromise color. I do like the designs and they can be used as is or cut in half. I would not say this was a good buy.

Detailed, inexpensive, and highly flexible
I love this mold.I used for gum paste, please see the picture. The mold is very flexible and extremely detailed. It works best with gum paste where the molded material can take the detail. A trick I used was to put the mold and the gum into the freezer for 25 minutes before using. Then, I used a liberal dose of lubricant on the mold.It was very easy to shape and extract the molded gum, and the results were very detailed.I am also eyeing the mold to use with resin to make things like ornamentation on boxes, bookmarks, and a host of other craft and fun applications. All in all, you cannot go wrong for the price.I highly recommend this mold.

Excellent product!
I used the mold to paper cast a border for a custom frame I created for my art. I put it in the oven repeatedly and it’s still as good as new!

Makes a thick, stable pace that's pretty and easy to use!
Edible lace is a total pain to work with. This mold made the job much easier! It has a dainty look but is strong and stable. Best one I've worked with!
