Good lid, and if you’re using a 20 gallon long, you can put a gentle heat lamp on one end of the lid while lifting the other end of the lid to add food and water, which makes for a nice mini chick brooder. The hinges make all the difference, since you don’t need to lift the entire lid off.

I got this for my red eared slider in a 75 gallon tank. He decided he wanted to start jumping out of his tank (hasn’t done that in the 6 years i’ve had him), so in return he got a covered tank :) I definitely agree with the other reviews — the middle support bar of the tank prevents the lid from laying flat. It kind of sucks and looks funny, but it still does its purpose. I supposed if it really bothered you, you could cut or file down the metal. It’s not that serious though.

Very heavy duty, very easy to install and not super heavy. My cats have gotten on the lid multiple times and it has had no damage, keeping me tank inhabitants safe! It’s slightly inconvenient to open and close sense it is a huge door but it’s a small price to pay for the safety of my critters. It fits perfect on my 75gal tank and folds in half for easy storage when it’s not in use. Looks clean and professional and functions as advertised! I recommend this brand and item to all in need of a tank lid!
