This is a beautiful desk. It is fine workmanship and very sturdy. It was easy to put together. It comes extremely well packed and there are no marks or blemishes. Jane was extremely helpful in dealing with the shipment.A note: the upper part of the desk comes as one unit. I was able to get it up my curved staircase by myself by flipping it end over end, so it is manageable for one person to move.

Absolutely wonderful oasis and a pleasure to sit at this vintage desk. I'm a software developer by trade, working with cutting edge cloud technology. This is my great departure from that to study and recharge. I like the 24" inch depth which keeps it from overwhelming the room. I did make one modification. I lowered the knee-hole shelf by about 1.5" to accommodate for larger books. It still does not interfere with my legs when seated at the desk. The only improvement I would make would be a locking mechanism that when the tambour is down it locks all the drawers instead of just the file drawers and the tambour having locks. Jane at Country Marketplace was great and worked with me to make sure delivery and setup was smooth. Installation was just a matter of putting the pedestals, center drawer, and top together. Very easy. It's best to either make sure your Amazon account has your phone number (only Amazon can see the number) or just reach out to the seller so delivery appointment can be scheduled.

After submitting my order on Amazon, I received a text from my credit card company refusing payment due to the cost. After verifying that I made the purchase, I was advised to reorder the item, which I did. A few days later, I received a phone call from Amazon (I thought) but it was from the merchant who was sending the desk. Amazon connected the company (Country Marketplace) to me but would not give out my phone information. The representative from Country Marketplace (Jane), wanted to contact me since she received my order for 2 desks and pursued to contact me. I advised her that I only wanted one. She assisted me with cancelling one of the desks. If I was not contacted by Country Marketplace, I would have received 2 desks which would have been my responsibility to return one. Many thanks to the excellent customer service of the Country Marketplace. My desk is assembled and is absolutely beautiful. Would definitely order from them again.

This is a great high quality desk. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Solid wood (and not Particle Board) and finished to a very high standard. The roll top is very smooth and sturdy. This is desk has the look and feel of an antique. It was very easy to assemble. It took me about 2 hours to unpack and assemble. After opening packets of bolts and hardware and nearly finishing the assembly, I realized the folded up piece of paper I kept moving out of my way was the instructions. If you have any kind of mechanical ability, putting this desk together should be no problem. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a beautiful piece of furniture that can be passed down for generations. Jane at Country Marketplace is very helpful. I also ordered a Chair they make that goes perfect with this desk and is made to the same high standards. I had a family emergency I needed to attend, and a quick call to Jane and she was able to hold shipping till I was ready.

This is a very pricey and nice roll up desk. It's constructed out of solid wood. Minor assembly is pretty easy. But, as I said, it's expensive and nice.

I've had my desk for several months now and I just love it! It's exactly what I wanted. I like the seven separated nooks so I can categorize paperwork and other things, I like the built-in file drawers so I could get rid of my metal file cabinet, I like all the different sized drawers on the top. This desk makes it easy to organize everything. Best of all you can just roll down the top if you want to conceal everything. Oh, and it's very solid, well built and beautiful!
