Nintendo 3DS XL - Black [Old Model] (Renewed)

I never write reviews, but this one deserves it. I saw the 1 star reviews and was timid on buying but I did it anyways and the product was in perfect condition. Not a single scratch or dent anywhere on the console. It started right up and feels brand new. Definitely recommend.

The media could not be loaded. The device was UNUSABLE. First red flag was how there was a rattle from the inside when I removed it from its box. Then when I tried to boot it up, it took ages to turn on. After waiting, and the system finally responded to being turned On, NONE ON THE BUTTONS WORKES. Not the volume, the touchpad, the circle pad…NOTHING. I tried to return and get a refund, but Amazon would not allow me due to the product containing a lithium battery. After dealing with their customer service system for what seemed like forever, Amazon granted me a return but with NO REFUND. I expected more from a A to Z seller, and I expected a whole lot more from Amazon. I had read a few similar horror stories in the reviews, but the positive reviews outweighed the negative ones. DON’T GAMBLE AWAY 300+ like I did for a plastic paperweight. Trying to reach the seller was impossible.

Works great. Looks brand new. Came with the charging cable and had the stylus too.

Was worried by other reviews so I reached out to the seller and they reassured me I would receive a true North American XL and not LL. I got a near mint one! It works flawlessly and had no scratches whatsoever! This really seems like a brand new unit complete with stylus and SD card. Won’t hesitate to purchase from them again.

Works good and as it should. My only complaint is that this is false advertising. It is advertised that you will be receiving an “XL” but you actually receive the Japanese “LL” version. The screen protectors have small bubbles, and there are also small scratches on the outside.

Came in perfect condition runs really smooth.

I usually don’t write reviews but for me this was a Japanese model 3DS that has been modified to be used within the US. For those who don’t know the Nintendo 3DS in Japan is called the LL (Large Large) and not XL (Extra Large in the US). Japanese 3DS LL are region locked to only play Japanese versions of games. In this case this one was modded to allow it to play using US versions, tricking the system to think it was in a US region. This was not mentioned in the description or at all in the buying process. There’s no SD card (you’ll have to buy one and format it), terrible 3rd party charger (that doesn’t fit fully into the 3DS), modding software installed in the system, and crashes at random times while using. This caused me to do some research to find out the issues this device had for me. Hopefully this is just a one time problem for me and not anyone else. This system itself in is good condition but had a ton of internal issues because it wasn’t an XL. Good luck and be cautious with this one.

To my big surprise, the console product come in three layers or packaging. After opening the cardbox box there are another two layers of bubble wraps before a plastic envelope that wrap the actual console. So in a sense you get the bubble wraps as a fidget toy for free somehow! (Jokes)Now the console itself is nothing more than a typical old gen 3DS. It is mimimally beat up. There are some small amout of scratches on the top and bottom of the console, and the matte surface is pretty much gone due to previous use. Other than that, the color and function are as advertised without any issue.Although some minor flaws, overall it functions as promised and it is within my expectation. And for 300 or so of price range I am pretty much satisfied amd cannot ask for more.
