At first impression and first use -- very satisfied
I've been using a stick welder on EVERYTHING. After years of burning through thin material and trying to fill the resulting holes I had enough and purchased this flux core welder. It arrived today and I had a number of projects ready to try it on. First, it is light and easy to handle. Second, it is easy to set-up. Third, the wire feed can be adjusted to just the right speed for the weld desired. The projects all required welding 1/8 rod.Fourth, no more burn-through and the welds are excellent. I've read the bad reviews and right out of the box the wire feed worked perfectly, not a single circuit breaker tripped, the supplied wire gave excellent results. The face shield is garbage. If I'm lucky and this is just the luck of the draw I cannot say, but I'll be sure to post an update if that becomes the case.

Affordable and does a great job
I'm not a welder by any means. But this welder did what I needed. The frame body mount in the picture is thick steel. It's tacked in place. I'll go back and finish it. There are YouTube videos that gave great reviews and ranked it in the top five.

Is what it is
I am a professional welder I decided to buy this unit for fun just to see if it is good. Overall the quality of the unit is pretty good but not the nicest welder you'll ever have works but sometimes cuts out and will trip on a 20amp outlet but you can definitely get by with it it can lay some good beads and if you have some skill you can make it work great! The thing is kinda heavy if you don't have a little cart for it (I build a cart out of scrap metal) but would be a decent shop welder to start off with I decided to upgrade the plug with a 30amp plug and it worked a lot better and I could use both modes

Excellent Value
First of all, throw the wire away as soon as you open the box and get some Forney .30 flux core. With that out of the way, I didn’t buy their wire, I bought their welder, and their welder is fantastic!! I love this little thing. It’s my new little buddy. I only wish the leads were about 3-5 feet longer. I have to work in close quarters with this, but my ass is planted in a chair anyhow, so I suppose it doesn’t matter. The welder is worth every penny, period!

Bang for your buck
Great little welder, I was hesitant on buying this but ended up working better than expected. Came with everything needed and worked perfect. Welded up my custom exhaust and the bead was surprisingly decent. Would definitely recommend if someone is looking for a cheap welder just to get the job done.

Hide and seek
New to welding. Received this about a month and a half maybe two months ago. so looking forward to getting this. It came and it looked amazing. Awesome piece of equipment. Wait until it has some kind of mind to take some time to show me the ins and outs of welding. We proceeded to weld some fence parts in about a half an hour into it. Machine start acting really weird very hot. We took breaks to rest and machine. not that we were working it hard at all . Something wasn’t right to snow right sound right so I took the panel off the side of it and then it was somehow somewhere the thing was dropped.. thinking not in transit because the side panel would’ve been dented along with the dent that you can see in the photo but you can’t see it when the side is on it. Disappointed behind believe. Like really. I’ve contacted Amazon and send email and photos to this company over three weeks ago and have not heard anything back from anybody or any help would be appreciated. 😒

Not worth the frustration
The media could not be loaded. i’ve owned this little welder for over a year now and it was my first welder, i didn’t know a thing about welding till i bought this. over the year i produced some good welds after practice. even made a functional flat roof rack for my car. But since starting welding school, and meeting plenty of experienced welders, this is not a welder i’d recommend. it’s always welding the tips shut, getting stuck to the metal instantly, the grounding clamp has shorted shooting some serious sparks until it was unplugged, it’s just a pain to work with, if you have a 8 hour job your gonna spend 4 hours just trying to get the thing to work or fixing stupid malfunctions. If you want value for money GO FORNEY. If your looking for quality look for Hobart, Lincoln, Miller, Forney. They all have entry level rigs. Etosha has no website, no support, no name recognition, they don’t even tell you where to find contact tips or contact tip holders. If you weld once a year then maybe this rig will do but still Forney sells mig machines for the same price. I Will be keeping my etosha welder and maybe will pass it down to my son if it lasts in storage. excited for my forney 140 mp to show up though and wish i woulda bought it right away!
