Rothco Vintage Canvas Paratrooper Crossbody Shoulder Bag

This bag is just great! It is made of a very nice, soft, and durable canvas in a very nice brown color. It came very quickly and was nicely packaged. The slots for pencils is convenient and is one of most favorite features. I have used it to carry rifle cartridges and sunglasses! The main compartment is split into three spaces with one being larger than the other two. The other two spaces are about the same size. The strap is adjustable and very comfortable. The shoulder pad on the strap can easily be moved to wherever you need it most and is great on the shoulder area. There is a front pocket that can surprisingly hold a lot. It held two formidable books and the flap could still be snapped. It can also (seperate from the books) hold a full size iPad, though, the flap could not be snapped simply because the iPad was to long. One of the snaps is really hard to get on and off, but will hopefully wear in. The snaps are really no big deal, but does get annoying it is hard to work the one snap. It is most likely just with my bag. The bag is slightly floppy, but feels good when slung empty and filled and is still sturdy. The bag's main flap is easy to clip on and off and is also sturdy, convenient, and simple. In all, this bag is just fabulous. The canvas is soft, durable, strong, and flexible. Every feature is well built, conveniently placed, and simple. Basically everything about this bag simple, straightforward, and sturdy. I recommend this bag for everyday usage or spontaneous usage of many aspects.

Its a great bag, but I managed to break it. I trust Rothco as a brand, usually. Their products frequently stand the test of time for me. This one lasted me about a year before I started playing with it and ripped the inside to the main flap while trying to test the strength of the clasp. To its credit, the stitching holding down the clasp didn't budge. I may try sewing the rip, because I do like the bag. Its tough yet light weight, and is able to fit my notebooks, my 35mm camera plus the smaller accessories, and a water bottle, plus has more pen slots than I'll ever fill. It's a great bag, really. Just dont try to purposely destroy it.

i adore this bag, i use it all the time! it’s got the large pockets for my tablet and sketchbook, and the small pen holders for my ink pens and pencils! it holds all my stuff, and there’s tons of space for all my enamel pins on the front flap! the straps took a minute to figure out and adjust, but they stay in place and don’t move around.

I had been using this for school before they closed and I loved it. I could fit all my necessities and my laptop and I especially loved the slots for pens. It's a little slouchy just how I like my messenger bags. It works great for me and I would definitely recommend it. The only thing that I see may become an issue is the thinness of the strap

I carry a folder for my job, a sketchbook, a small notebook, a medium sized wallet, a pencil pouch, various amounts of gum packets, small bottle of lotion and body spray. And that's just the normal stuff. Surprisingly, there is even MORE room in this bag than I expected, including all the things listened above and more. That was the basic reason for this bag.But of course, there are pros and cons (some may be more important than others, but to each his own).Pros:+ Spacious+ Tough material/Pre-washed (Rain and snow does not stain it, and getting stains out is easy.)+ Fairly DurableCons:- The strap may be too weak and if too much is in your bag, the strap will possibly hurt your shoulder.- While the bag is spacious and able to fit many items, the bag is canvas and has no real shape, thus if you have many small items, then your bag will be like a formless sack. (This is really a personal thing for people for those we prefer having an actual size to your bag. This 'formless' problem was only bad because there are three sections in the inner part of the bag and can make things mess inside, especially with small items.)Overall, this is a very good product, and it is worth the price I paid (Roughly ~$25 with shipping) over the other canvas messenger bags you can buy in stores. The shipping was spot on as well, so I was happy to have it when I expected to.So I would recommend this bag to a friend as long as they like canvas bags.

I bought this for my work on job sites to hazardous material surveys. I like the little slots for markers, pens, color pencils, etc in the front, but I don't like how flimsy the bag is. Granted I understand that it is a canvas bag but this bag could seriously use some kind of structure. I have often found it hard to use because of how flimsy it is. Maybe just a hard plastic center piece or two in the dividing flaps, would make this bag sooooo much more functional. I also dont like that the dividers do not go all the way to the bottom of the bag: meaning that if you put something in one partition, it can migrate down and into an separate partition, which is a real problem in my industry, where cross-contamination is an issue.
