Great Alternative Light Fixture
Works great as a replacement for a standard pole mount fixture that I could no longer use because the underground wire is broken. To save the expense of having a new wire run I decided to give this a try. It seems to be well constructed for a plastic fixture, it is fairly heavy and everything fits. There are other Gama Sonic solar pole lights available that use metal construction but they cost more than I wanted to spend and this one looks great, similar to the original fixture. One thing that the advertisements don't tell you is that it has a place to install a second battery to extend the range of time it can operate. I have ordered a second battery and would have ordered it at the same time if I knew it had a place for one. Amazon does not sell the battery but I found it at one of the "big box" home improvement stores. Both batteries are replaceable and Gama Sonic says the batteries should last about 3 years which would be great. It also has a winter/summer switch which dims the light for longer operating range. On the "summer" (bright) setting it is almost as bright as a 25 watt incandescent bulb, on the "winter" setting it's somewhat less. Operating on one battery in the late summer on the "summer" (brighter) setting it runs for about 8 hours at night after a full sunny day. I haven't received the second battery yet so I can't say how long it runs with that. Overall I am happy with it. It's nice to have some light on the sidewalk once again.Update:After installing the second battery and leaving it cycle for several days, it stays on from dusk until dawn (about 10 hours) on the "summer" setting. This again is in late summer with full sunny days. I don't think the solar cells will be able to keep both batteries charged fully during the winter after a cloudy day but I'll have to see how much running time I get. I don't know how long this kind of fixture has been on the market but I wish I had known about it sooner. I came home after dark and it was nice to see the area lit again. It's not as bright as the 40 Watt bulb I use to use but it makes a decent amount of light with no energy cost and no expense to replace the defective power cable to the pole. I know a couple of people with the old gas light fixtures that run 24/7, this fixture would be a great alternative for those too.Update:As I suspected on short, cloudy winter days you don't get a full night of light but still it's better than no light at all. So overall I would still buy this fixture. It's a great alternative light.

They are 100% Plastic
My last Gama Sonic lights were all metal and glass. The new replacements are100% plastic. Disappointing. My first Gama Sonic lights are 15 years old and the solar panels are warn out and parts are no longer available. They would only stay lit for maybe 4 hours. The new ones are bright and last all night.

Nice lights
This is a photo of front gate in the morning after being on all night, roughly 12 hours. They have been coming on between 5-6 pm and are now staying on till morning. I did add the extra battery in each light. This is 4 days after installing 2nd battery, so am confident they are being charged with 8-9 hours of charging during winter. 1 battery would not keep it on all night. Nice looking, easy to open up for battery maintenance, perfect lights till I trench house power out that way! Would buy again!

Yep
We have two of these. Seven years later they are still working great. Remarkable. We have not changed the batteries. Wow! Great product.

Highly disappointed
On June 24, 2024 we ordered these lamps and received them a short while later. On August 1, 2024 the return windows closed. During August 2024 the product failed completely - go figure. Fairly easy to install, and easy to set for Winter or Summer. The sun that my solar panels for my house power is exposed to is so much that I had to increase my battery storage capacity. Therefore, it is not available sun energy which causes the lamp to fail. It did work fine for a few weeks. It simply does not work anymore. I wanted to believe I bought a product that will last for years, but I was wrong.

Love them
I love the look. I thought they were metal, but they are plastic. They were half the price than other stores same brand. We bought 2, 1 didn't work so we asked for a replacement. The replacement was sent directly out and we got it in 2 days. I was a little sad they weren't real bright, however, at night they are perfect without overwhelming our neighbors. They stand about 8 feet tall. Great park feel addition. We love them.
