Cosamin DS For Joint Health Dietary Supplement, 210 Capsules

These body and muscle ache pills take 2 weeks to fully work, but are the only ones I’ve found that really work! Everything feels so much better.

I have been taking Cosamine, with the lable shown here, daily since 2004, so 20 years. So, I only take 1 capsule per day and it usually suffices, unless I'm having an extreme physical labor day maybe. This is the first time I have gotten this new label and it saying Nutramax. I started a new med a week before this, for acid reflux w no side effect. I started this and I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital with stomach pain. I called the doc who prescribed the other pill, as I thought it was that. She said stop taking that one and if the pain didn't go away go to the E.R. Toward the middle of the day it got better. But then the next day I took this again and the pain came back. I'm afraid to take it again. I take no other medication. I take the same maybe 6 basic vitamins every day, like for 20 years, and none of them were new. I didn't see a place to contact the manufacturer here or complain to Amazon. I think they don't take pills back anyway. I would like to know if anyone else had this experience recently. I'm afraid to take another one to make absolute sure. I guess I should though, taking absolutely nothing else. Hmmm.

This is a great joint supplement that can be used on humans or animals. My husband uses it and notices within 2 weeks the difference if he runs out and uses another brand. His joints start aching! Nutramax has very high quality standards and maintains those standards for all their products, both their human and animal lines. The source of the ingredients is shellfish so if you are allergic to shellfish do NOT use this joint supplement as it will indeed cause reactions in many cases. I experienced this when I first tried to use glucosamine/chondroitin products so I have to use the non shellfish sources which are not as efficacious for me.These capsules are reasonably small vs most other joint products and I would say they are medium in size, about the size of most allergy capsules except Benadryl (which are tiny!).It takes 10-14 days before joint discomfort is helped with the supplement and for those that understand anatomy, physiology and joint disease the product will not aid in ALL joint conditions. If your joint problem involves complete loss of cartilage, the supplement cannot help that. It can only help prevent or slow that particular problem so it is best to start this supplement as soon as you suspect you may have joint health problems.Also, it is best to stay on the product indefinitely if you find it helps you because cessation means a return to slow insidious damage and often a return to discomfort within a couple of weeks. That said, no supplement will totally prevent the inevitable, and all organs including joints age and degenerate with time and use. If you're a health-nut, or just athletic and enjoy mobility, this product is highly worth trying!I use many supplements and various brands and doses on various animals and I do use this supplement on some pets as they are easily opened and sprinkled on food. Because they are capsules, I have the option for only the smallest of dogs (<15lbs) to split into two doses.

I bought the Cosamin DS Joint Health for my mother in-law as she suffered for knee joint pain and can hardly walk. My sister in-law have actually prepared to send her for operation. I happened to see this product and have read through couple of review and because it is taken by my mother in-law, I have to be extra carefully when selecting a supplement for her. Initially I bought a 108-count bottle for her to try out and to my surprised about 1~2 weeks, her joint pain have reduced and she can walk slowly to do some of the minor house work. Oh...the only complain from my mother in-law, is that the capsule is too big for her to swallow so she have to open the capsule to consume it. Up to now, this is the 4th or 5th order for this product (210-count) and I recommend this product to my friends and relative when I happened to find out that they or their relative suffer with joint pain. One very important thing, do no overdose it. Overdose can caused the legs/joint felt harden or stiff and he/she may felt painful. If he/she is taking doctor's medicine, it is best to consult the doctor whether he/she can take Cosamin DS.

I have been taking this for about six weeks. My knees were damaged in a fall, and I think I am looking at surgery for the cartilage in one.What I did not notice immediately was that the bursitis in my shoulder-arm joint seems to have cleared up. I have been aggravated with this for the past three years, and had pain if my arm was raised from my side to over my head. That also kept me from sleeping on one side, and restricted my sleeping position on the other side.I'm a scientist, and I am always extremely skeptical of over-the-counter "cures" ... but this one really surprised me. However, this improvement was so sudden and noteworthy, I have to attribute it to this product.My knees have also improved, but I need more time to certify any positive changes.Finally, don't misunder the multistar "pain" evaluations. This does NOT rapidly reduce pain like Tylenol or aspirin. The pain relief is INDIRECT and it takes several WEEKS before the relief takes effect.
