Great Alternator for my Boat (Volvo Penta engine)
Worked great as a direct replacement on my AQ225-D motor in my 1984 Sportcraft 250 Hardtop. I had the original Paris Rhone (sp?) alternator on my boat and after 34 years it finally started going out. So, I looked for 3 days for a good marine replacement alternator to match the original Paris alternator that came on all the Volvo Penta motors from the 70s into the 90s. A factory Paris Rhone replacement was around $275... So, I looked for different options and came across this.I was skeptical at first, but it ended up working amazing right out of the gate and was an exact replacement for the Paris Rhone with the same moud type, same regulator on the back, and same thread patterns and everything. The only difference, is that the Paris alt had a plastic p.o.s. fan on it and this one has a metal fan on it. Well worth the money spent and so far have about 40hrs on it. If anything changes, I'll definitely come back and update this review. But, so far, it's been great and trouble free.

Perfect for our sailboat!
This alternator is a perfect fit for our old Volvo 303 diesel engine and was reasonably easy to install in a rather confined space. The alternator solved our charging problem.

Unreliable - Lasted only a year
The battery terminal came loose internally, got hot, melted the tiny yellow wire and failed. It was on the boat only a year and had about 175 hours on it. I think it actually failed a few months ago as I have not been charging. But I only pulled it out of the boat today to see what happened.

Good replacement.
Item looks good and works fine. Had to file some off the lower mount to fit it between the motor mount. Easy install and hookup.

BAD ALTERNATOR
THE FIRST TIME I RAN THE ALTERNATOR IT MADE NOISE AND THE ALTERNATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I CAN'TGET IN TOUCH WITH THE COMPANY THAT CLAIMED THEY HAVE A ONE YEAR WARRANTY. BAD PRODUCTAND BAD SERVICE. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.......
