Excellent Noodles!
Having lived in Japan back in the late 80's one of the things I've really missed was the awesome ramen booths around town. So I took a chance and looked up ramen here on Amazon; and lo and behold, Nissin had a page here!I ordered a box of my favorite, the Fried noodles and it exceeded my memory of how good they taste. I cannot recommend these highly enough. The downside if there was any; is that these shipped from Japan, not some reseller in America; so plan ahead and get plenty!

be careful
This is a really great product from Nissin, delicious and very easy to make. Just a word of caution, depending on where you live, US Customs might not let it come into the country because this product contains avian (chicken) meat and in many Asian countries like Japan and China, they have had cases of avian influenza and the US does not want to take chances. Double check with your local post office before you buy and it will save you and the seller trouble later.

UFO Noodles
These noodles are excellent. I only wish instructions in English were on the package too. I read other people's suggestions on how to prepare the meal and it turned out just as good as I could have wanted.

Delicious Japanese junk food
These noodles aren't quite what you normally see in the US. Inside one Styrofoam bowl you will find the customary block of noodles, some freeze dried flakes of veggies and meat, a packet of sauce and a packet of seasoning. Put it all together, and you basically get instant Yakisoba (a kind of delicious fried noodles often served as street vendor food in Japan). The instructions on the package are in Japanese (naturally), but they also have numbered illustrations that give you a pretty solid idea of what steps to take in what order. Peel the lid back halfway, remove the packets, pour hot water, close the lid and let it sit for 3 minutes, peel up the tab marked "3" to reveal the strainer, pour the water out, remove the lid, add the sauce, add the seasoning, enjoy. The sauce is a good bit thicker than the broth that American ramen is usually served with, which gives this stuff a bit more body and flavor. One caveat, the instruction label is quite likely not going to be in English. The package might have a translated label included, but if it doesn't, you can find the nutrition information online with a bit of hunting, or even find a website that will translate the phrases used on Japanese nutrition labels. Most of the same information you look for on an American food label will be on the Japanese one. Just, you know, in Japanese.

So happy to see this on Amazon finally!
I sat here eating a bowl of these fine noodles, wondering how I would ever find more of them. I brought 7 bowls of this back with me from my last trip to Japan. The trip before that I brought back 5. Sadly, I was down to 3, and it didn't look like I would be getting any more of my favorite instant noodles. Then, on a whim, I checked Amazon. I'd checked before, but what's the harm? OH MY GOD THEY SELL THEM NOW!Needless to say I bought another batch. So if I were to describe these noodles, I'd say they are a sweet teriyaki flavor, with cabbage and other small bits of texture thrown in as well. Simply add water up to the line, cook for five minutes, drain water and mix in the flavoring. Awesome!
