Exactly what I needed
Whenever you install an electric water heater that is on the 2nd floor of a building you have to install one of these to prevent siphoning. Of course the local store wanted over $50 one of these. Good thing I can just order it off Amazon for a 1/3 of the price.

My inspector was perplexed
He didn't know why I had installed it, since it isn't required by code in Oregon. But after I told him that I wouldn't have to open faucets to drain the tank, he figured it was brilliant!A quicker way to flush the tank.No leaks, works as expected.

Works as it should
Put this on our stills to prevent vacuum and they work. When still cools down they pull a vacuum so these prevent "sucking in" of the still. (We are legal!)

Corroded and stopped working
Didn’t expect it to corrode and leak so soon. Plan to go back to plastic next time. Disappointing. Corrosion superficial but caused it to stop working. Will mount vertically next time.
