It's a trip
I recently purchased Gallium 99.99% 15 Grams from RotoMetals Inc., and I couldn't be more impressed! This product is incredibly pure and fun to work with. I used it to cast a melting teaspoon, and the results were amazing. The gallium melted smoothly in my hand, and casting was easy and enjoyable. As a fun experiment, I also tested its reactivity by letting it "eat" an aluminum lock, and it worked perfectly, leaving a fascinating surface reaction that showed just how powerful this metal is. The gallium arrived well-packaged and in perfect condition, with no impurities or oxidation.Overall, this is a fantastic product for anyone interested in experimenting with metals or conducting unique science projects. Highly recommend it for its quality, purity, and the sheer fun of working with gallium!

Such a Cool Product
This stuff is so cool. I got it for my boyfriend because he really likes science and rocks and stuff like that. It comes in a nice hard little plastic tube with a pop off cap. If you hold the container in your hand for a while, the gallium will melt and you can pour it out into your hand. It is so cool and interesting to be able to hold a melted metal in your hand because it's liquid like water but still heavy feeling like metal. It's not too hard to pour back into the container but it can get a little messy so I would not recommend using it near carpet or with clothes that you don't want to possibly have stained. It's a really cool gift for someone who loves science or even just to get to teach your kids something. Everyone that we have showed this too loved it and thought it was super cool.

Messy!
It takes a while to turn to a liquid, which I was told it would take seconds by a website. And it leaves residue on your hands and If you drop it, it sticks to everything and dries and stains.

Fair amount, but melts slow
The main thing your going to dislike is that is leaves this ugly grey marking on anything it touches, including you. Not toxic, but it's really difficult to get washed out without soap on hand. It also melts fairly slowly, with you having to have your hand fully clenched around it for 25-40 minutes until it fully melts. And now onto the good. It's an amazing party trick, showing that you can melt metal in your hands. It's also an incredible experience rolling it around in your hands once it's liquid. Also for cleanup, it can dries within minutes by just blowing cold air onto it.

How do you review an element?
I got this for my dad's birthday, and he liked it. Pretty good as a gift for a guy who has everything, just an interesting toy to play with. It's neat, it liquifies in your hand and you get to play with liquid metal. Gallium doesn't hold together to itself like Mercury does, so it doesn't sprint around to itself like that, but it's still fun. Worth noting that it leaves a bit of grey residue on the hand and whatever it's on when liquid, but that washes off pretty well.

Really cool!
I saw this on Pinterest and just had to see it with my own eyes. I love rocks and gems and thought this might be fun to share with the kids. It is fascinating. It came out of the container very easily and it did indeed melt when it was heated. Pretty fascinating and very cool. I put the melted part back in the container and the next morning it was back as a solid.Youtube has some fun videos showing the unique factor of it.

Not as expected
This was for my son, who was under the impression that the gallium would turn liquid when held in the hand. This was not the case. First, we couldn't get it out of the bottle because it was too big, so we had to submerge the bottle into hot water. When we finally got it out as a liquid form, we had to put it on ice for it to turn solid again. It does turn your hands grey, but, certainly doesn't liquify in your hands, without the help of some extra heat. Overall, a dud of a gift.

kind of cool, but some logistical issues
I bought this as a gift for my Chemistry nerd of a boyfriend. First of all, it was really difficult to get out! I put the container in hot water like someone mentioned and it came out but by then it was too liquidy to witness any of the cool effects. I tried molding it into a shape that could make it easier to remove (using wax paper and letting it sit for a while), which sort of worked. Once it was a solid it melted relatively quickly in his hands, but he also has warm hands. In mine it took a long time. Also, it definitely leaves a silver film on your hands. Anyway, it really just needs a different container. I never really found one, so it hasn't been used since he opened it. I think it's a cool idea in theory but not something I can imagine being played with more than once.
