These work great in the hospital after Giving Birth
These are so cute and easy to use especially after giving birth (prefolds and covers are also easy but these are faster) don't be afraid of meconium (baby's first poops outside) it washes right out without leaving any stains. and if the nurses aren't smug about it will love how cute they look. (my 1st nurse was annoyed when we put the Cloth Diaper on our baby and rolled her eyes and had attitude and didn't believe me my legs were itchy after a c section I mean like unbelievably itchy till a different nurse said that was normal and there was medicine for it.)

Questionable Weight Range
These were okay for the 1-2 weeks that they fit. We were able to avoid some of the leaking issues mentioned by other reviewers by snapping the waist snaps onto the lower row; however, while they did great at holding in poop after this, they remained pretty lackluster at containing urine. Obviously, these aren't disposables; they need to be changed after each time baby goes, but these were struggling with that. By the time she regained her birth weight (8 lbs 5 oz), they were so tight on the loosest setting that they were leaving pretty bad indents on her skin. She has a pretty big tummy, but her waist/hips are incredibly tiny (hilariously so if I'm being honest). These fit where she's tiny, but were still leaving marks all over. Not sure if this was because she was crazy active and constantly rolling onto her side, maybe?Anyway, I found a post explaining how to "hack" AlvaBaby diapers for newborns. We'd gotten a few AlvaBaby and Simple Being, so I did that with both of them. It looks goofy compared to the normal snapping of the Lil Joey's, but it works so much better for us.I saw some people complaining about stains. Honestly, I'm not bothered by the stains. I figure that's just something that comes with the territory. But for those curious, this is how ours looked after the 1-2 weeks of use with only breastfeeding. We washed them inside out, using the "soak" and "heavy soil" settings on the washing machine with Dreft detergent and no bleach or Shout or anything. I did notice that the pocket diapers have stained much less after nearly 9 weeks of use in comparison without doing anything different, but that probably has something to do with how the absorbency works, I'm guessing? I wouldn't know.

Adorable!! Just wish the tag was fabric
These little diapers are so adorable!! We were only able to use them a short time before our child outgrew them, but it was worth it for the snap down umbilical cord. They're also super easy to use and clean. If exclusively breastfed, you can just throw them in the wash and everything comes right out! If there is a stain it's slight, and easy to remove by simply laying the diaper in the sun for an hour or so.We never had any issues with stains or smells. Just be sure to use proper detergent and a good wash routine. The fluff love university website is a great resource. They have a detergent index which I found extremely helpful in selecting unscented, plant based, and cruelty free detergents. They also have a washing machine index.. you just find your make and model and it will tell you which settings to use for your particular machine.Since these are all in one diapers they do take longer to dry, but that is to be expected. I didn't mind.. it was worth the convenience. I can't imagine hanging multiple inserts and stuffing diapers during the newborn phase! The orange diaper came with a tag that said "wash separately," so I called Kanga Care for more information. They woman I talked to was so friendly and helpful! Excellent customer service. She explained that some colors like reds and oranges may bleed the first time you wash them. It's usually not an issue but they put that label on just in case, since the color may transfer to other inserts. I only had 2 orange diapers so I just washed them with everything else and didn't have any problems.Another thing that's great about these diapers is that since they're only used a short time (and are adorable) they have a high resale value. Just saying. The only thing I do not like about these diapers is the tag. It's a thick, flexible plastic or something. It's awkward and can catch on things sometimes. I never had a problem with the lil joeys leaking around the tag, but one of my newborn covers did (see last picture). I wish they would replace it with a fabric tag.

Snazzy diapers for newborns
OBSESSED with these diapers. If I could afford it, I would buy like 20 of these and use them exclusively during the newborn phase!!! However, it's pretty cost prohibitive to do so, so instead I bought 4 of them and use them every day. They are very high quality, very trim for a cloth diaper, and SUPER cute. The snaps hold up well. They absorb liquid quickly so don't really feel wet against baby's skin even though they are saturated. Washing is simple since there is no assembly required.Only downside to these diapers is that once your baby starts to get a bit bigger, you'll have to stop using them for night time as they don't hold a ton. We had a (pee) leak the other day after she had been in these for about 4 hours. Still a great daytime option though and haven't had any poo blowout. Another downside is if you have big babies. These really are best for smaller babies. I think around 10lbs baby will start to outgrow these. Definitely no more than 11/12lbs. But we started off at 6lbs so it's totally worth it.I anticipate these will hold up for subsequent babies. So if you're planning to have a lot of kids it may be worth the investment to get a lot of these!

Beautiful But Might Be Fakes?
So I havent tried them yet (due in March) but I have a feeling they're fakes due to the pattern not being the same as the picture. Mine do not have black on them around somw of the designs, however they are extremely soft inside and out, the elastics are tight, snaps are nice, everything else looks good. Plan to do an absorbancy test with them after they're prepped😊

simply the best diaper for newborns in my opinion
simply the best diaper for newborns in my opinion. i have tried prefolds, one size rumparoos, size 1 applecheeks and disposables, none performed better on our baby in those early months. i know everyone says its so tiny it will only fit for so long, but it fit our baby until she was 3 months old, and she was born 9 lbs. the amount of money i used in the first week buying disposables alone would have allowed me to get 2 or 3 of the 2-pack lil joeys, plus it did better and all the other pros of cloth diapering. Next baby i will do lil joeys at home and some disposables for convenience when out of the house.
