Historical Emporium Men's British Empire Pith Helmet, Victorian British Soldier Hat Replica Costume Cosplay

I was actually very surprised by the quality of this pith. I had anticipated something far more costume. The quality is quite good. The only low quality aspect to the helmet is the leather chin strap which is clearly for looks and not for function. I was also surprised about how light the helmet was. It actually stimulated me to look into the history of pit helmets. From what I can tell this is constructed in that manner. The helmet is NOT plastic (as far as I can tell without taking it apart), rather it's made from the same wood that traditional pith helmets were constructed from.

Hat worked well for doing outdoor work in the summer. Keeps sun out of eyes and head rather cool, strap is non functional but not very important to doing outdoor chores

Does not size big enough

This is a cheap product. Not a helmet it’s a prop. For plays and dress up. I wish I would have spend 20$ on a cardboard hat. THIS ISNOT. A HELMET! cheap cheap cheap cheap and smelled like a fuel tanker. Don’t buy this crap

Quality of the helmet is about what you’d expect for the price. Only complaint is that the color isn’t quite what’s pictured. It’s lighter and more yellow (think egg nog) tan than a proper khaki.After trying a few dying techniques (fabric is some synthetic material rather than the advertised cotton), I had to resort to Rust-Oleum’s outdoor fabric paint in khaki to get the desired color. Also got rid of the strips of fabric that made up the puggaree and made up a proper one out of some cotton.

We thought this would be of a "Halloween costume" quality, but it was surprisingly well-made and very handsome!

This was a birthday gift to my brother. He really enjoys it. It is a tad small, needs adjustable band in side.

Pretty cool. Chin strap actually works well, which was surprising. My friends made fun of me for wearing it tho so use at own risk
