Q: Is the tub Arko the same as the stick Arko?

The ingredients for the tub is: Potassium Tallowate, Potassium Stearate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Aqua, Glycerin, Potassium Cocoate Parfum, Parraffinum Liquidum, Tetrasodium EDTA, CL77891, Etidronic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Disodium Distyrylbiphenyl Disulfonate, Linalool, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol. The ingredients on the Arko tub is similar but are listed in a different order, the stick seems to have more Potassium Cocoate which may be why the tub has a harder puck in comparison to the slightly softer Arko stick.

Q: Is this better than Williams? Much, a little, or about the same?

I have used both and Arko is BY FAR the better quality shaving soap and definitely worth the difference in price. For the very budget conscious Williams is still a good shaving soap. But if you can easily afford it, Arko is the better deal and lasts a long, long time.

Q: What can be used as refills?

You can buy the sticks, unwrap them and heat (not too much!) in the microwave. You can then mash them into the bowl if you like. I prefer using them like a big crayon, however, and whipping up the lather on my face.
