Pretty Nice Tools – Not Just for Electric Vehicles
This tool kit consists of wire cutters, needle nose pliers, wire stripper, and slip joint pliers. The tools are primarily designed for working on electric and hybrid vehicles. They have an IEC 60900 certification which means that can be used around high voltages. However, I do not have an EV and do not work around high voltages. But I have a nerve issue with my hands that makes it easier for me to use tools that have cushioned handles. And the cushioning on these tools, which is there primarily for its electrical insulation qualities, is easy on my hands.I got this tool kit primarily to keep in my music room for working on my guitars, basses, amplifiers, etc. The needle nose pliers and wire cutters work very nicely and I’m sure I will be getting a lot use with these. The adjustable pliers are pretty big, so I don’t know how much use they’ll get around my instruments and amps, but I’ll have them if I need them. Also, I’m not sure how well the pivot mechanism would hold up under hard use so maybe my music room is a better home for these rather than the garage.Unfortunately, I am not too happy with the wire strippers. One problem is that the v-grooves in the two sides do not line up very well. Maybe it is supposed to be that way, but they did not work well for me. I tried to show this misalignment in the pictures that I posted with this review. I had a hard time stripping wires from 14 to 20 gauge. It seems like I either couldn’t cut completely through the insulation or I went too far and cut several strands of the wire. Fortunately, I have several other wire strippers that work well for me.So, this is a good kit with a nice soft case, but minus one star for the wire strippers that I don’t like.

Great HV tools for the price
I’m a WERA tool fan but I couldn’t stomach the $360 price for their very similar socket set. This set at $140 is honestly great! The ratchet is a 8.5/10 the extension detents feel great! Even the zipper pouch ain’t bad. If you are a vehicle technician that occasionally encounters a hybrid/EV you NEED this set to keep you safe. 100% recommend!

Great starter set.
The kit arrived exactly as pictured, and everything looked good and organized right out of the box. There were no bent pieces or missing items.I ordered this kit because I want to start building a proper set of tools for my DIY electrician bag at home. Spending $60 on individual tools seemed too high for a home handyman. While I'm pretty aware that for basic home electrical work you generally don't need VDE-certified tools, (as long as you have a set of well-insulated screwdrivers and pliers) the ones I have are old all metal pliers type of pliers, and since I needed new pliers with proper insulation, why not go with this VDE kit, especially given its price.VDE-certified tools undergo rigorous testing to ensure their insulation can withstand high-voltage situations, thereby protecting you from electric shock while working on live wires. For simple home tasks like changing light bulbs or replacing outlets, and splicing wire, a basic set of insulated screwdrivers would do. However, can you really overlook the attractive design and superior insulation, functionality and grip of VDE tools? I don’t think so.When I came across this kit, it felt perfect for my needs. It even includes a nice tool pouch. The tools feel sturdy and reliable, but i do have to say I have a preference for brands that are confident enough to put their names and logos on their products. If it’s good, they should be proud to put their name on it!At least the certifications are all really there unlike some other questionable look-a-likes.This tool kit contains wire cutters, slip joint pliers, a wire stripper, and needle nose pliers. Although the tools are advertised for work on electric and hybrid vehicles, I will be using them for household sort tasks, so they should be more than enough. They have IEC 60900 certification on them and it's not just something mentioned on the product page, which signifies adherence to international standards for insulated hand tools used in electrical work. This certification ensures that the tools meet stringent safety standards suitable for potentially hazardous electrical environments. To obtain IEC 60900 certification, tools undergo thorough testing that assesses their insulation properties, mechanical strength, and resistance to high voltages. So just having that certification provides peace of mind for those who understand its significance.I plan to use each of these tools, and they will make a great addition to my bag. My electrician costume is almost complete! LOL

Decent quality but not heavy duty.
This is a pretty nice tool set(and a very nuce case) , the tools themselves are well made to use the handles are comfortable and they are well insulated. Overall this tool kit is nice for what it's intended for and has been a nice upgrade for when I m working on electric's . That said none of these tools would pass as being heavy duty for example the channel locks are easy to adjust and offer a decent amount bite due so they work well but they also have Flex when putting a good amount of torque on them. So my only complaint is that I wish the tools were a bit more sturdy .
