Just as advertised!

I purchased this to replace a 30 yr old outside dryer vent cover which was painted black and looked like an eyesore on my recently repainted home. First thing I noticed when I opened the package, was thin and somewhat flimsy plastic. When I mounted it and turned on the dryer, everything seemed fine. But when I turned the dryer off, two of the three flaps stuck open as some noted here. So I did the following two things. I made sure that the frame was squared up to the house wall perfectly thus minimizing any plastic distortion due to the thin material. Then I sprayed a little silicon on the flaps mounting nubs and problem solved! You DON’T want to use a product like WD40 since it’s prone to collect dirt etc which would be a problem down the road. (I used a silicon spray product which is used primarily for garage door roller, bearing and track lubrication.)

Looks good, easy install, but the mesh screen came apart after a few weeks.

Extremely poor quality. Plastic is very thin and rodent proofing plastic was laughable.

I needed a vent cover to replace the old one on outside wall of my house for the bathroom exhaust fans. I had a large wasps nest in my old one so wanted one with a screen. This one was perfect. Not only the right size but looks awesome. Most were just plain white. This one is a nice looking gray and the screws are hidden. I did put a little glue on the screen just to make sure it stays in place but I am very pleased. It looks great on the house and will prevent insects from getting in. I don’t think this would work well for a dryer vent because of the lint that may clog up the screen.
