Klipsch means Quality
I was skeptical at first regarding an in-wall speaker vs a wall mount style. However, due to the layout of our room and an ultimatum from the wife about not having an 'ugly looking' speaker hanging off the wall, I decided to go with the in-wall style. WOW! Klipsch really does make amazing speakers. We are using these R-5650-WII's as the surround channels and paired them up with some R-820-F floor standing speakers for the L/R channels and a R-34-C for the center channel. In total we have a 5.1 setup. I was afraid that the surround channels would get overpowered by the massive floor standing enclosures, or wouldn't pair up nicely in terms of harmonics. This is not the case AT ALL. These in-wall speakers keep up extremely well with the rest of the setup. The only discernible difference is in the extreme low end of the range (around 60-70hz) the speakers don't quite keep up with the R-820-F. This is a non-issue because I set my Sub crossover to 70Hz anyways so it covers the range. My wife is not big into audio and she was convinced that we were wasting money creating a system like this. The first time I played the speakers, my wife walked into the room and said 'Oh my gosh!' She immediately sat down to listen and continually said 'Wow!' 'Did you hear that' 'Its so clear' I am not exaggerating when I say that within a half hour we were listening to some of her favorite music and she was crying because it came through with such power and clarity allowing you to really feel the music unlike any other speaker we have had in the past. Now she wants to know why we waited so long to buy them. I bought this system in January of 2019 and have been using it for about 6 months. Now, my wife is asking when we are going to add in-ceiling speakers to create a Dolby Atmos setup. We have also resorted to watching more movies at home now and going to the theater less because it is cheaper for us to just buy a movie and it is more relaxing sitting in your own living room. The whole family can't wait to show off the system to guests when they come over. Just pop in a couple of Dolby intro/test tracks and watch their eyes light up.Back to the actual speakers. The R-5650-WII's are slick. The speaker covers are a white metal and attach magnetically to the front of the speaker housing. No tools required to take on and off and they sit extremely tight and flush to the wall. The speaker cover sticks out MAYBE 3/16th's of an inch.(I haven't measured) We originally thought we would paint the covers to match our wall being that we have a medium tan colored wall. However, they blend in so well we decided to leave them as is. In fact, I was looking for a good picture for this review, and in the dozens and dozens of pictures I have taken in my living room since January, the speakers are hardly noticeable and wouldn't do the review justice.Installation was a breeze. Just use the enclosed template and a keyhole (drywall) saw. My only advice is to make sure you have enough clearance away from the studs so that the tabs can flip out sideways to anchor the speaker. Use a hand powered screwdriver so you don't over tighten. Both of my speakers are in an exterior wall 2x4 stud construction with rock wool insulation. I simply cut the hole, hooked up the wires, and compressed the insulation towards the exterior. So far, no issues and haven't noticed any cold drafts. We live in Michigan. If you install these on an exterior wall, be aware that you CAN hear the speaker on the outside of the house(muffled) if it is turned up to a decent volume.Final thoughts: If you are on the fence about this speaker, or an in-wall speaker, don't be. Go buy it! It was worth every penny. Klipsch makes quality stuff and these speakers are no exception.

Top-notch music from architectural speakers
Have a pair of these in the living room along with matching ceiling speakers in the kitchen. At first was not happy, then swapped out the receiver for my wife's 15-year old Yamaha 100W RX-473 and wow! We crank up some dance/hip hop/techno tunes and these crank out the sound with a very linear response. Tried a pair of R-2650-W II's before moving those to the media room (where they do great) and found the 5650 to be more lively and responsive, especially at lower volumes which kind of threw me until I checked the specs on the sensitivity.11/21/2016: I've been asked to upload some photos so here are the two in the living room. Of course I painted them the wall color and they just blend in, no one even notices them when they are in the room. In total I installed 13 in-wall and in-ceiling Klipsh speakers and of course the grills are all the same. The two ceiling grills in the kitchen didn't need to be painted since the stock grills match your typical white ceiling paint. The walls were either off white or tan and painting was a touch tricky. We bought a cheap Wagner spray painter, thinned the house paint and tried my best to apply very light coats. Too thick or heavy and it plugs the holes - I mean some are going to get blocked anyway but that won't matter. Without thinning I ruined one pair and had to order replacements. (I think I removed the felt backing to paint too, search the web for more). Basically if you paint these properly with the right paint they will be the best looking (and sounding) solution you can find on the market!

In-wall speakers that sound great - Klipsch sound is unmatched
I've loved the Klipsch sound ever since we had a pair of Cornwalls in the house back in college. Something about the great response throughout the audio range with clear highs that don't grate. Anyway, these in-wall speakers sound great, using the framing and drywall to enhance the mid-range sound. I was not allowed bookshelf or floor-standing speakers in our great room, so decided in-walls would be the best way to stay married. I have them matched to SW-450 subwoofer and RP-450C center channel speakers through a Denon X3500h (that one's a winner, too!). The sound is great, whether watching video in 3.1 sound, or listening to music in 2.1 or 3.1 mode. You're not going to entertain the entire neighborhood like you can with the Cornwalls, but these guys fill the room (and apparently, the house) with clear, flat, undistorted sound at all volume levels (I rarely go above 75%, otherwise I face the wrath of my wife and son yelling at me to "turn it down!").

Beautiful sounding speakers
These speakers sound amazing. I needed two additional speakers for my surround sound and these two speakers were installed in the left and right side of an angled ceiling area pointed downward toward the listening area. I am very impressed and wish the rest of my speakers sounded this good. Wow! Installed is in the wall, so they are not the easiest thing to install but to be expected. The template worked well, the connections for the speaker wire was easy to use and created a solid connection.
